In America today is a day for being thankful for the things in people's lives. Today was a day to celebrate family, friends, prosperity and health with food, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on what is important us and to recognize the gratitude we hold for having those things in our lives.

Thanksgiving was something that Morgaine's family only really observed because it gave her mother an excuse to check up on them and badger them endlessly.

So when Damien informed her that Talia would be joining them for dinner, Morgaine was not surprised.

And in light of recent events, she expected that Damien was looking for something to keep his mind off of things.

She dressed and went to her brother's private quarters, waiting for her mother to arrive.

Damien has been taciturn and brooding since Lian's departure, though he continues to run the League's affairs efficiently. Work is the only thing keeping him sane now, and while he'd rather not have Mother asking questions today, he observes the holiday because the women in his life need it.

Lady Vic leaves Damien's room with a satisfied smirk on her face; Damien could care less, really.

When Morgaine arrives, Damien greets her and pulls out a chair for her.

"You look nice, Morgaine. Would you like a drink?" he asks.

Morgaine sat down. "Thank you, Damien. Yes, I wouldn't mind a glass of red wine, if you don't mind."

"Lady Vic seemed pleased when she left here. Did you say something to her, or did she come to you with a bottle of tequila, wearing nothing but a trenchcoat and French lingerie again?"

She wouldn't blame her brother if he'd been looking for other ways to keep himself occupied.

	Damien poured a glass of red wine for his sister and smiled at her question. "A little of Column A and a little of Column B. She wants to become the new Demon's Lady. "A mission. It's the easiest way to do so that doesn't involve details. I'll tell her it's an undercover mission. I take a small bit of joy at the irony in that statement." Damien says, a note bitterness in his voice.

He pours himself a glass of bourbon, downs it, then another.

"I believe that not all of our members fought to their utmost during the battle in Star City, Morgaine. I'm sure you know of whom I speak." he says, looking directly at her.
