After all is said and done....(open to Outsiders)
Takes place before Calypso leaves.

Lian surveyed the damage done to the Outsiders' base. While the place wasn't exactly in ruins, it didn't look like her apartment after she'd torn it apart looking for something she'd misplaced, either. Shards of broken glass here, a burnt table there.

She sighed. It was all replaceable. She could make a couple of calls and get everything fixed.

But she couldn't stay. She'd made a huge mistake, in going off undercover in the League on her own, without telling anyone. Yes, the team knew that she had been undercover, her and Tim made pretty damn sure to fill them in on that little detail when they briefed them on the League, but they didn't know the whole story. About her and Damien.

It was her fault that this had happened. Her fault that the League attacked.

Her fault that her best friend was dead.

She couldn't allow herself to put her teammates at risk like that again. She'd gather her things, make sure that arrangements for repairs were made, and then she'd leave, and they'd never have to see her again.

Tim would catch up to Lian before she left.

"Hey. We need to talk." he says simply.

She stood and watched for a moment, unsure of whether or not she should intervene. Honestly, Calypso didn't know what she should do. Lian had been her first friend, and then she was suddenly abandoned. And then the fight happened. While it wasn't exactly a hard fight, it didn't achieve a desirable result. There was a lot more, too. But Calypso didn't want to think about it. No, she wanted to talk about it.

So she decided to speak up.

"Why did you leave?"

"I made arrangements for someone to come and replace everything that's been damaged," Lian said. "You can change all of the passcodes, so I can't get back in."

She then turned to Calypso.

"I left because after that first mission we went on, I wanted to find my Mom. But of course, I was an idiot and didn't use my goddamn brain, thinking that it would be best if I didn't get the team involved. So, I went undercover in the League of Assassins, thinking I could find my Mom and put her away somewhere where she wouldn't break out this time.

Turned out great, didn't it?"

Yes, someone was still kicking themself in the ass.

"You can't leave, Lian. What happened is my fault as much as yours, if we really need to hand out tickets to the blame game. If you go, then I shouldn't be here, either." Tim says.

"The League is still out there and they need to be dealt with. Star City still needs the Outsiders. You can't give up." Tim says.

"My best friend is dead, Tim" she said, tears coming to her eyes for what had to be the millionth time. "And it's my fault. All my fault.

This whole fucking mess is my fault."

With as much restraint on her strength as possible, Calypso slapped Lian.

"You did mess up. You abandoned us to try and track down your own mother. You didn't think about how you couldn't possibly accomplish your goal. You didn't think about the repercussions your actions would have on the people you brought together here. What was the point of this team if you were just going to leave? And you tried to make Tim and J'anna the leaders in your absence? Do you really think I was going to take direction from either one of them when I didn't, and still don't, really even known them?

"And right now, you're thinking about abandoning us all again. How is leaving going to fix what you did, Lian? You need to learn from your past mistakes. You need to own up to them, and start making things better by sticking around and proving yourself. I'm giving you the option right no to earn back my respect as a friend and teammate."

Calypso looked at Tim for a moment and glared. He was right in taking part of the blame. But he already knew why he took part of the blame, so there was no need to Calypso to remind him.

"So stay, Lian. Because leaving isn't going to make things better."

"I don't agree with a lot that Calypso says or does, Lian, but she's right about leaving. It won't change what's already happened. We've got to figure out the next move from this point." Tim says.

He doesn't address the rest of what Calypso has said, because he's not certain he keep himself in check if he does.

"We've got to keep fighting." he says.

The slap stung, and Lian just stood there, a little dumbfounded.

"I'm sorry," she said. "My mother has always been something that sets me...on edge.

I don't know what to do, Tim. I feel like a part of me has been swallowed by something."

"I don't think they blame you, Lian." Tim says. "They blame the people who did this. Damien Wilson and his little band of psychopaths.

We've got some repairs to do, but I'm already looking into our next run-in with the League. They're not going to get away with this, Lian. I also warned Dick to get in touch with Wally to make sure Iris and Jai are safe." Tim says.

"I need to touch base with them, but we can shut down the second part of Damien's plan by making sure he can't get either of the West Twins." Tim tells her.

Lian nodded wordlessly. She didn't think she could face Damien again, not without completely shutting down. She hadn't even had to fight him when he showed up at the safehouse, and she felt as if she could barely hold her bow.

"I have to tell you something," she said to Calypso. "No, I have to tell the whole team something."

"Lian..." Tim says gently, "you don't have to do this right now. There will be time for this, but you don't need to rush it."

He's pretty sure he knows what she's going to say, but he doesn't want her to overdo it right now.

Calypso eyed Tim. She knew that he knew something the rest of the team didn't know, even before this short exchange of words. Then she turned her gaze to Lian again. "Then let's find the rest of the team."

"I don't know when else I'm supposed to tell them, Tim."

She was sick of keeping it bottled up inside her. The only people that knew were Tim and Cerdian...and Cerdian was dead.

She had no idea how in the hell Damien found out, but he did somehow.

Tim remained silent at that. There really wouldn't be a better time than now and there was still a lot left to do.

He was glad that Marissa wasn't here to see this, or Bruce for that matter. The Old Man would never let him hear the end of it, not that he deserved to, but still.

He hoped his contact got the information needed on the League so he could decide what to do next.

Max was going over the fight in his head. That league guy he had fought gave him a bad feeling he was to good to have gone down like he had and giving the information away like he had, sure it was subtle but he had still given it way. It seemed to him there was dissention in the ranks within the league which could be a good thing or a bad thing. If he had to guess though it was a bad thing. He would have liked to start looking into this more with all his info on the league that he had and his suspicions on their current operations of which he had picked up that they were up to something big but he had heard through the grapevine that Lian wanted to say something to them. He owed to the person who had brought them together and had once be more or less their leader even if he could call her that now. As far as he could see there was no one there he could call a leader for their little group.

This whole situation made him think about let people know who he really was on the team but he still didn't feel like he could trust anyone there enough.

Joey was around, having gotten himself a beer.

Did he feel bad about Lian's friend getting killed? Sure. But that was the kind of business they were in. It wasn't anybody he knew, which, callous though it might have been, limited how he could feel about it.

Only thing to do was keep moving.

Lian waited until everyone had assembled in the lounge, which hadn't been hit that hard by the recent attack.

There was a giant knot in her stomach. She didn't know quite how to tell them, but it was something she had to do.

Things like this were definitely not Lian's strong suit.

"I really don't know where to start," she said, pushing a strand of hair behind her ears.

"I want to apologize for taking off the way I did, and not telling everyone personally. It was stupid, rash, and very irresponsible of me. My mom has always been something that sets me on edge and makes me do things I shouldn't, and I shouldn't have not told people what I was doing. That's not how a team works, and out of all the people in this room, I should know that.

I understand if no one in this room trusts me right now. I don't blame you in the least. I'd like to earn it back, and I know that it'll take work, and that it won't be easy. I'm willing to do what it takes.

When I was undercover in the League, it quickly became less about finding my mother and putting her away, and finding out what Damien Wilson was up to. I was able to gather that he was onto something big, and I decided that the only way to find out what he was doing was try and get close to him."

Lian exhaled.

"I'm not going to beat around the bush here. You all deserve upfront honesty, and I'm going to give it you.

I'm pregnant."

Max had suspected as much it had never gotten more than being a suspicion but this definitely confirmed it. Though he had thought Lian from what little he knew of her from personal experience would be smart enough to how to and to use a condom.

Max simply nods and does not do anything more than that.

"I am," she said, "Keeping the baby, that is.

Tim returns silently to the conversation, listening to everyone speak silently. J'anna needed a few minutes to compose herself and he couldn't do more for her than he'd already tried to do.

He'd done enough already, really.

"Yeah, Lian understands that she's got to take care of herself even more now. We hope." Tim says.
