A part of him has gone numb at the news of Lian having another man's child. Cerdian tries not to be affected by it, but it hurts him, deep down.
You knew it would be this way, even before you learned you would die. Lian is human and deserves to be with a human man, to have human children. You can never truly be a part of her world.
"Are you feeling well? Do you need to lie down or anything?" he asks.
