Cerdian listens, taking in everything. The only time he interrupts Lian is if he seeks clarification on who a person is or a place. However, as she continues, he realizes that his not being here for her allowed for this to happen.
The moment she finishes, Cerdian stands up and wraps his arms around Lian.
"You are safe here with me. Damien will /not/ make you do anything or go anywhere you do not wish to go. I swear that to you." he says, holding her close to him.
When they were children, Cerdian always dreamed of marrying Lian. Even if his mother disowned him and Atlantis cast him out, he would marry his best friend, because he loves her that much.
"How can I help you, Lian?" Cerdian asks.
