Captain Atom barely had time to acknowledge the Whiskey-Tango-Fox Trot situation that was Zoe's accuracy, but he was ready for the pair of them to attack.
He fires a blast of energy at the pair of the as Vertigo's effect hits and the world starts to spin. He's not completely disoriented; it's more like he tied a really ad one on at the bar, but he's still standing at the moment.
He tries to shake it off, stepping toward Vertigo slowly with the intent of grabbing him with his superior strength.
