Re: The Other Side of Town (Rose)
Angie caught Rose as she was coming out of the shower when she heard the knock on the door. "Damn," she said, throwing on her bathrobe, grabbing a knife out of the kitchen.
Few people knew where she lived. Few people stopped by regularly. And if you could say that she had frequent visitors, her brother Joey always called beforehand.
If it was her father on the other side of the door, Rose would not be a happy camper.
She checked through the peephole. Not her father, but still no one she knew. Angie would have a knife blade pressed to her throat when Rose opened the door.
"You're going to do a couple of things for me. One, you're going to step inside slowly. Two, you're going to give me your name and tell me what the hell you're doing at my apartment. And if you even think of pulling a gun on me, it'll be the last damn thing you ever do."
