Selene
Selene, once the goddess of the moon before Artemis, walked toward the office building of a small subsidiary of LexCorp. She raised her hands and beams of light shot from her hands and shattered some of the windows. People inside screamed and started to panic as shard of glass went everywhere.

A mere instant after the windows shatter, the air briefly thickens, ripples, and absorbs the shards of glass as if they were never there. The ripple of thickness passes through the people within the building to press up against the inside of all the walls.

"I hate to quote The Lord of the Rings at you," Alina says, stepping out of the air's thickness to face Selene. "But never the less, you shall not pass. Turn away, rich-tressed Selene, or be turned away."

"Sorry Selene, but you and yours haven't been 'new' for at least thousands of years," Alina says. She steps forward again, trusting that either her allies know how to aim their spells around her or that Hecate's power won't let spells harm her. "We who are gathered here decline your instruction. Again, I urge you, turn away."

She spreads her hands wide and begins to glow with an eerie light. Another ripple passes through the air, and dogs begin to howl in the distance.

"Far-seeing Hecate chose her side in the war between Gods and Titans, and she chose it well," Alina says, her voice taking on a deep, echoing quality. She'd given Selene three chances to turn away, now the kid gloves were coming off. "Bright Selene, you chose to fight the heroes of this age, and the avatar of the one Titan who was not deprived of any of her powers in defeat. Tender-hearted Hecate retains her due portion of the earth, heavens, and sea, and a portion of that power, she has bestowed on me." Alina spreads her arms wide and smirks. "And I'm not too shabby myself."

Hecate hadn't just bestowed some of her power on Alina, but some of her control as well. Hecate's powers open and reinforce the correct paths and lends focus to the sea of wild magic that flows through a girl who can't even legally drink yet.

Alina shoves Selene with her and Hecate's magics, roaring wordlessly in a sepulchral voice that rattles the windows of the building behind her and feeds on the howling of dogs.

Alina, still glowing, floats down to the ground. The moment she comes in contact with the solid earth though, the light snaps off and she staggers.

"Whooooooa," she whispers, steadying herself and straightening her hat. "That was a rush." She breathes deeply for a moment, heaving huge lungfuls of air that still taste (to her) like power and magic, trying to memorize how this feels because she wants to be able to do this when Hecate isn't making it easy for her. "Okay, everybody. Let's rock, roll, shimmy, and shake. Wow."
