Oh. That's what she meant by his dad filling her in. Dinadan hunkers down against his pillows, covering his face with a hand.
"I'm going to be fine," he says. "I'm past the worst of it now, really; it's just that recovery takes awhile."
Her offer makes him laugh a little under his breath. "I'm flattered, but I look pretty terrible right now. Not to mention that Dad called Dr. Kettering over to keep an eye on me, and I'm not sure if he remembered to put his pants on today."
