Party time!
Since the calendar had turned to the month of September, Iris had been counting down the days until their birthday. She'd been planning the party since back in June. Jai normally had no problem letting her handle the party planning itself.

She had invited all of the Titans, including Pipi and Mitzi, of course. And Jon, Corinna, Traya, Cindy, Jerry, Keith, Cerdian, and Wendi, too. And Riley, because if she didn't invite him, he'd probably tag along with Dinah anyway. She also told Cait that she could bring her mom along, if she wanted to get out of the Tower, and that her parents probably wouldn't mind the company at all. Jai probably invited some people too, though the guest list was pretty much the same between the two of them.

Everything was all set up, and Iris placed the wrapped package that had Jai's gift on the table where the other gifts would go. Grinning from ear to ear, she waited for everyone to arrive.

"Great. Everything going okay with you?"

"Oh, the usual more or less. So more good than bad. Anything new with you?"

Cindy blushes. "Consulting the JSA had more results than I expected. Nic Hall and I -- well, shortly after she thoroughly illustrated how far I have to go with understanding fighting stuff, we started dating. So that's wonderful and school is good, so I'm even better than usual, thanks."

She may be blushing, but he doesn't miss a beat. "That's great. She could definitely use someone being around her more." A thought occurs. Max Lord... right. "Have you told your parents yet?"

She shakes her head. "I keep trying to find a good time to tell either of them, but there hasn't been, yet. They're really busy." And in other news, the sun had been rising in the east.

"They're your parents, they're always going to be busy, but the longer you wait, the harder its going to be. But on a related note, any big business projects you're working on?" No, he doesn't at all want to know what Max's current scheme is.

"Yeah. I'm going to try again soon. Some long term ideas that require roping Riley and Dinah into for initial research purposes, and -- well, you've met Michael, right?" She needed to try to track him down in the midst of this party soon.

"Glad to hear you're keeping yourself busy, anyway." Though a Lord, plus blue and gold in the same plot... recipe for some kind of disaster. Bears keeping an eye on. "I haven't, no."

"The new Firestorm guy. He's into architecture, and I want to give him some career advice and references. Considering how well and quickly he fixed my window that he'd broken, he could really be doing a lot better for himself if he knew the right people to call and didn't get stuck fetching coffee at some regular firm, you know?"

A Lord, blue & gold... and a transmuter. It might just be one of Jai's new toys, but he's sure, somewhere in the background, that he hears "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger."

"Not a bad idea. He could do a lot of repair work very quickly if he knows his stuff well enough."

"That's just what I was thinking. And he'd save a lot on overhead, too. Only more immediate thing I've got to work on is some marketing stuff for two of Avia's charities. Getting certain types of people in the 'If I hang onto all this money, it starts to look impolite' mindset can be fun and easy."

Hmm, charities, at least, he can get behind, and he's always been fond of Hope and Avia, even if two more different siblings would be hard to find.
"Any charities that an appearance or autograph session from Superboy would help? For a good cause and all."

"That could be just wonderful, Jon. Helping famine victims isn't exactly a hard sell if one can just get enough of the right attention, so it's mostly a matter of raising the profile. I'll e-mail you some information about an occasion?"

"Fantastic... though, can you check to see the political groups involved? Family policy, don't touch anything associated with either party, unless its equally supported by both. As long as it passes muster, and believe me, my mom will double check, I'd be glad to help out."

Cindy listened. That wasn't a surprising policy for that particular family. "Far as my initial lookover's seen, they're totally nonpartisan -- really, their business model looks good in terms of how the actual relief stuff works, but they don't seem to be good at publicity and connections, which I guess is why she asked. I'll send the links to their 501(c)(3) stuff and what else I've got."

"Great. I'll let you know." And Cindy smiles and goes to get herself something to drink.
