Party time!
Since the calendar had turned to the month of September, Iris had been counting down the days until their birthday. She'd been planning the party since back in June. Jai normally had no problem letting her handle the party planning itself.

She had invited all of the Titans, including Pipi and Mitzi, of course. And Jon, Corinna, Traya, Cindy, Jerry, Keith, Cerdian, and Wendi, too. And Riley, because if she didn't invite him, he'd probably tag along with Dinah anyway. She also told Cait that she could bring her mom along, if she wanted to get out of the Tower, and that her parents probably wouldn't mind the company at all. Jai probably invited some people too, though the guest list was pretty much the same between the two of them.

Everything was all set up, and Iris placed the wrapped package that had Jai's gift on the table where the other gifts would go. Grinning from ear to ear, she waited for everyone to arrive.

Her boyfriend's birthday! Traya was a little nervous. Her gift had to be absolutely perfect. And Iris was her good friend too, so there had to be something really good there too.

For Iris, she'd ultimately settled on The Making of the Little Mermaid, a book she'd bought at a used book shop not far from campus. There was also a Flounder keychain.

For Jai, from the same shop, she'd tracked down both the Han Solo trilogy and the Lando Calrissian trilogy of books. Inside her card (which she instructed him not to open if his parents were around), was a picture of her in a certain outfit worn by a certain princess in a certain third movie, with the tagline "A Halloween preview."

The words "Best Girlfriend Ever" no longer qualified when it came to Traya. They've been together several months now, and every day, she does something to surprise him more than the day before.

Of course, he reads the instructions in the card and asks her to come outside to the backyard with him to check it out. When he sees the picture, Jai's turns a very bright shade of red. He loves it.

"Um...hey. Since we're out here, I needed to talk to you about something important." Jai says.

"Oh, good." he smiles nervously, wondering if he's got the guts to go through with this. He's been thinking about it for over a month now, and hasn't said anything because he wants to make sure he's not just saying this to say it.

"Traya, I like what we have...together. I like us. But something is changing and I have to tell you about it, because I always want to be honest with you." he says, taking a deep breath. He doesn't want to botch this.

"I think...I think I'm falling in love with you. Or, that I have. Fallen in love with you, I mean." he says.

	Jai breaths a sigh of relief, because he wasn't sure until just now how she'd take his declaration. Now that he knows, though, he can get do what he's been waiting all night for. He kisses her deeply. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	If Traya hadn't made them float, Jai probably could have under his own power. Once the kiss breaks, he looks at the card and the picture again and smiles. "Yeah, this may require a private showing sometime before Halloween." Jai grins. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
