The plan to get into Poseidonis was crazy enough that it could work. Cait planned on going up to the main gates and telling the guards she wished to surrender to her cousin. Then once they were inside and in front of him, she would confront him.
Cait and Cerdian were just outside the gates, gathering their courage to go inside.
