He blinks at Nic. She was both smart for her age and scary. There was wisdom in her words that was totally unexpected.
And she was right. "It's a little different you know. With you and Rex. They know what to expect from you. Me? I'm an unknown." He shrugs setting the book aside.
"And I suppose I am acting like a girl. 'Boo-hoo'," he mocks himself just a bit."Are you still on that Captain Unconscious bit? I couldn't help it. Magic."
At least he isn't sulking. "And I worry you know. After all of you. There's so much that could go wrong."
