'The pleasure of your company is cordially requested by Miss Lenore Cynthia Montgomery Lord at a celebration of her 16th birthday. at 6 pm on the 25th of July.'

Calligraphy. Cardstock paper with those little RSVP cards and everything. That should make it clear that her birthday is going to be awesome, right?

Cindy Lord's powers don't work in print, so she feels there can be no confusion about what the fancy etiquette signifies beyond, in Cindy's mind, 'important'.

Among the rather prissy-looking envelopes sent out are those addressed to Miss Traya Smith, Miss Petra Beatriz Gardener, Mr. Jonathan Kent, Her Royal Highness Caitria Curry, Mr. Jai Allen West, Miss Iris Lillian West, Miss Dinah Michelle Kord, Mr. Riley Edward Carter,

But she makes sure the little notes on the invitations include 'Dress flexible'. She doesn't want anybody not coming to her party because they didn't feel like wearing heels or a tie.

Jai is still a little depressed that Henry left without saying goodbye. His best friend is now on assignment in deep space, and it's back to Jai being...who? The loner?

He wasn't really in the mood to go to a party, but he had no idea that Irey had already RSVP'ed for him. He figures he'll just stay home and relax or something, until Mom starts harping on him about you-know-who.

Suddenly, a party sounds like a great idea.

"/That's for me,/" Dinadan says quickly to the guard on phone-duty, thanking his lucky stars that this one has never actually picked up much English. Of course, the words coming out of the speaker are kind of loud, and there are more than a few Katarthans who have picked up the language, so Dinadan has to grow a big and turn off speaker-phone before he answers properly.

"Well, maybe you can come down here sometime. There are a couple extra belts around, Dad and I would just need to show you how to work them without exploding." The potential for exploding is something he wants to stress. Just to make sure that she understands that it is a little dangerous.
