Heard the News?

"So dad.  You heard the news?"

The minute Connor let it be known that he was no longer the Green Arrow, Keith was on the job.  He had wanted to have that title since he started being a hero, but he never got the chance.  Even if Connor and Ollie were both Green Arrow at the same time, Keith wasn't willing to share the spotlight.

He wasn't expecting his son to be so serious about it. Keith Queen was never known for being the serious kind of guy. Something had happened, and Ollie saw that. But that Did Not mean that Ollie was ready to let his son graduate from Archer to Green Arrow. It may have just been a name, but it was a name with a lot of baggage.

"Look, Keith. You had Super Buddies as Archer. I think you should keep it that way."

The kid made a good argument. Ollie took a moment to think about it. He'd trained Keith himself since he was just a little boy. And Dinah was right there with him. And it looked like Keith had done some growing up, or maybe he was looking to grow up? Ollie didn't know the changed his son was going through. But he understood that his son wanted to be more like him, for whatever reason. It was... something he took to heart.

He looked right into his son's eyes and said, "If I let you become Green Arrow, are you gonna take up some extra training? It's not going to be a walk in the park, kid."

"YES!!" Keith jumped and shot his fist into the air, like he was doing a shoryuken from Street Fighter. He settled down and looked at his dad, beaming. "Totally, dad! I'll take everything you got."
