Flying Blind
Riley looked at himself in the mirror and curled up his face. This was so not his style, on any level. He was wearing a necktie for crying out loud. Yes he'd promised Henry he'd clean up and wear a suit, but this was so weird. He didn't do the suit and tie thing, and he'd certainly never been on a blind date before. He'd never been on ANY dates before. It just wasn't something he'd really made a priority in his life. He'd never even really thought about what his 'type' was.

Henry had made some valid observations though, and he'd been persuasive. Henry usually was. He did need to get out more. As it was lately, he'd bee spending every waking moment not in school on patrol, with or without Dinah.

Should he have told Dinah he'd be busy tonight? He can always tell her if she contacts him.

He sits down, fidgeting with the buttons on his sleeves, waiting for Henry to call with the info about where to meet his mystery date.

	Riley looks him over in return. He's not bad looking, even if he'd never really considered dating a guy. (Riley hadn't really considered dating at all.) He'd go with it for now. 	Alex keeps that grin up, shifting a little to show off a bit better when he feels he's being checked out. "Thanks. I finally got it to do what I want it to for tonight," he laughs a little. "Yeah. 	Riley pulls out the notes Henry had given him. "Apparently we have reservations at..." He blinks. "At 'I'd Tapas That'." He looks up. "So yes, Henry. As you can see. So we've got half an hour to make it out to the far end of Brooklyn, meaning we need to go right now." He grabs Alex's arm and makes a beeline for the nearest subway station. 	Alex pauses a moment at the name of the place they'll be eating and then laugh. "Oh man, how'd they get away with naming it that?" he asks. "Well at least he wants us ac-" Alex is cut off by being suddenly grabbed and tugged along. He stumbles a moment but gets into the running easily enough. 	Riley chuckles as he swipes them through the turnstile, managing to squeeze into a packed car right before it takes off. It really had been a while since he'd been on the run like this with someone besides Dinah. He did need to get out more, Henry was right about that. ...my this train's crowded. 	Alex laughs some more as he's pulled into the train, rather amused when he's pressed so tightly to Riley. He takes just a moment to make note on the other young man's body but is snapped quickly out of it by the question from Riley. "Yep," he replies cheerfully. "At least now anyway. 	"Nah, I'm from Gotham. I--" He shifts his comment, not sure if he should mention flying. Crap, that's right. Henry never mentioned if this guy was a crimefighter of any sort. "Gotham's a great place," Alex replies. "I've been a couple times," the young man chuckles before going on. "Ever see the big bad bat out there?" he asks.

"Nice of Henry to not only set us up on this date but pay for the whole thing," Alex remarks, idly wondering just what his friend is up to. Shaking it off, he looks back to Riley. "Ye[. Once ya get used to NYC, it's one of the easiest cities to navigate."

	"Eh, he's not the boogeyman everyone makes him out to be." Riley shrugs. He and Dinah really need to meet the new guy sometime. Let him know how things are gonna be now. Blue & Gold are in town now. Alex nods. "Yep. I imagine there's no reason to be afraid of him if you're not a criminal," he reasons. "So, I take it you're not a bad boy then, Riley," he teases a little.

"Yep," he agrees, quite pleased with this whole set up. "Packed train, eh?" he remarks after a moment. Not that he was complaining. "We're gonna have to move quick if we don't wann a get tampled at our stop."

Alex blinks a few times, giving Riley a quizzical look. Eventually he decides that Riley really wasn't just messing with him there and his smile returns. The lantern reaches out to pat the green haired young man's arm. "Yeah...you're too cute to be bad," he says.

He lets out a thoughful noise as he looks around the crowd. "I dunno..." Alex trails off, pressing a little closer to Riley under the guise of giving someone else more room. "I don't mind standing like this."

	Alex smirks after the punch and nods. "Yeah. I keep in shape. Jogging and weight training," he says. "Judging by the way you wear that suit, you work out too, right?" he says. 	"Oh really?" Alex asks. When Riley leans in, Alex holds his breath a moment, wondering what's about to happen. At the whisper he can't help but snicker. "Right here and now?" he whispers back.
