Race to the tower

Suited up in his uniform, Thomas swings through the city like usual. It's a quiet night, and there's for once not much to do. He's followed up on all his leads, and is waiting on a few more. But the rest have run dry and he's already gone through his patrol route. Now was just the waiting game that he hated sometimes. And he was still royally annoyed at Maria for the...desk issue.

Not far in the distance he catches a glimpse of movement in the shadows. It's not a good look but once he focuses and tries following he recognizes the figure and a smirk spreads across his face.

	It takes a moment for her to be sure she is being followed. She sends a big grin in his general direction. Then just starts to free run so she can work up the speed to do a proper dive off the side of a taller building. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The wide smirk is the closest one would get to him laughing in costume right now, but it's more than enough really. He's just barely behind her when she swan dives off, and there's no hesitation as he follows suit. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She lands briefly on the back of a delivery truck. Then runs and jumps. She is climbing and running over a small roof top garden of some kind of fancy looking cafe. Sarah thinks this is grand. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She got a bit more distance with that dive but he's not far behind her, so close that if he was a few steps faster and reached out he could touch her.

But that's what made their games fun, the near misses and the chase.

This is Gotham after all, he's spent his whole life here, and knows the ins and outs quite well so keeping up on the fast paced but playful rooftop chase isn't an issue.

	She is having a blast. Getting chased is a big pile of fun for someone like her who has been so bored lately. If she was sure she could get just his attention she might have planned a heist to get him on her trail but, that would have been foolish. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

It likely would have been. He's never quite pinned down what this is between them, and he doesn't really want to, but it worked off a mostly unsaid understanding. Too big a heist would have jeopardized that and though it's a selfish wish, he didn't want to lose this. It was one of the few enjoyable things he kept up almost entirely for himself and not for bigger reasons, though he sometimes rationalized it otherwise.

He's right behind her, but doesn't say anything just tosses a bolo at her feet to trip her up, even if it's just momentarily, so he can completely catch up.

	She'd put him in a playful mood here and his hands do wander at her tease. "I like to do so whenever I get the excuse." "Aren't all our meetings moonlit strolls in a way?" He nods towards the giant looming tower not too far in the distance with the glowing W that overlooked the city. "Race to the top, distractions and trip ups along the way are allowed, and then when we meet there we pick an office to get into." He smirked. "Tower has pretty much the best security in the city. Should take up quite a bit of the night."

	"Only because I only work nights." It's a good way to look at it. She is rarely active during the day. She swears sunlight won't kill her though. 	He smirks back at her over his shoulder, it wasn't fair if it was only her doing the teasing. He makes excellent time towards the tower, it's his favourite spot after all, and he knows all the best ways to get there. But tonight he has a fox on his tail, which means it's far more fun. 	At least he isn't cheating. She is though. Guessing on where he is she uses a kind of 'stink' pellet in an air vent to distract him when he hits an entrance. It should only linger for a few minutes. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
