It had been Ted who'd answered the door and, after a good five minutes of laughing, had allowed Riley to go on upstairs, shouting something (between gasps for breath laughing) about keeping the door open.
Dinah, fortunately, did not laugh when he came up. "I heard Dad," she said. "Poor baby. Everybody's laughing at you."
