A Crazy Day Off

Jerry didn’t have school today due to flooding around his state while it wasn’t too bad in Happy Harbor one major road was closed and subsequently school was canceled too. This was the perfect time to go out and have some fun exploring with his power.

This seemed like as good a time as any to go exploring Gotham especially if since it was still light outside. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do there yet but have the fun of going on these types of trips was not knowing and just letting things happen.

After getting himself ready to go with money and a green lantern t-shirt he closed his eyes and snapped his fingers.

Again, he had to go incognito. But that didn't work. Reporters had been up in Keith's face all day since he left Marissa in the morning. Rumors were flying in from left and right, but Keith made every effort to avoid any questions. Neith he nor Marissa needed the press in their face.

He stopped by into a comic book store. Go figure. It was wednesday and he wanted read any new comics that had come out.

	Dad had taken Jerry to this comic book store a few times it was one of the places that he got his shirts from. Plus there was a good spot that he could teleport to just behind the shop that no one would see him teleport into Gotham. “Oh I was just in for the party so nothing but the airport and the plane,” Jerry said hoping that Keith would buy that. Not many people knew he could teleport and he liked to keep it that way and only his parents knew that he could now teleport long range and things without touching them. Most of the people that knew probably still though he could only do some short range stuff that took him a great deal of effort.

Henry... and Jon? And others there? Everybody there was a hero- a superhero at that. "Huh." He rubbed his chin and looked Jerry up and down. Best not to ask certain questions in public. Especially when you were a Queen. "Well, I should probably get going. Been in Gotham a little long, and the reporters are bugging me. See ya' around, Jerry."

He didn't know if he'd see the dude in Star City any time soon, but Keith knew he'd be coming back to Gotham periodically. He had a reason to.

“Yeah see you around Keith,” Jerry said. He curious about why reporters hounding Keith but figured he could figure that out later if he wanted too and also why Keith’s last name sounded familiar.

After Keith had left Jerry let out a sigh of relief since it seemed like he had bought the story that Jerry had told him. So far he had done a good job of not letting people find out about his powers but Keith had probably come the closest to actually noticing something.

After Jerry finished up in the comic store he set out to start looking around the city and having some fun. Keith had stirred up some interest in going to Star City soon since he couldn’t remember having ever gone there.

	You never fully realize how much you miss something until you've been away from it. Even if it was just a day trip over to Gotham, Keith was happy to be back in Star City. Even the papparazzi were nicer. They were bothersome, but not as intrusive as the one sin Gotham. Keith took advantage of being home, and walked the streets at night. He wasn't on patrol, though. After having talked to Keith about Star City Jerry had decided to check the place out for himself. He wasn’t too worried about running into Keith there since Star City was big and the likely hood of that happening was small. Though if he did he highly doubted he could explain his way out of how he had gotten there without revealing his powers.

After going out to dinner with some people he had met in the city he was now taking a walk around the city by himself.

	And... "Jerry?" Keith muttered the question to himself when he spotted the guy he'd met just earlier in the day. He didn't buy the story Jerry had given him before, about flying out to Henry's home just for the party. "Yo! Jerry!" he called out as he headed over to the guy. Shit. What were the chances that he would run into Keith in the middle of Star City? If he had to guess Jerry would say the odds were not very likely. Knowing how suspicious he had been earlier Jerry wasn’t even going to try to talk his way out of this one to Keith. With that in mind Jerry ignores Keith’s calls and starts walking in the opposite direction a bit faster but not enough to draw to much suspicion.

Um, what? Did Keith Queen just get the Cold Shoulder? Fuck that. "I know you didn't just give Keith Queen the cold shoulder, Jerry Carr!" Yeah. He was a little mad at being ignored. For a socialite like Keith- that was a crime punishable by intense interrogation as to why his pure awesome-concentrate was no being recognized.

Naturally, Keith picked up the pace and kept after Jerry. He was more suspicious now than he was before. Clearly Jerry remembered their conversation from earlier in the day.

Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. He hadn’t used that many shits to describe a situation since he last tried to play Left 4 Dead on Expert but right now it was appropriate. Jerry had hoped that Keith would just assume that he was mistaken and not go after him but that did not seem to be the case.

Once he got to a corner he could turn down he picks up the pace hopeful to lost Keith in the city which probably wasn’t too smart given that Keith knew the city better than him.

	Jerry was very good at learning his way around new places but still at quite the disadvantage to Keith. Once Jerry notices Keith running he starts running too. Jerry has a bit of a head start and for now at least was keeping it but he needed to make a plan of escape. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Jerry noticed two things as he was running first that Keith was catching up to him and second was a bouncy ball quarter machine. Thinking fast Jerry snapped his fingers teleporting some bouncy balls right behind him as he pasted the machine. No one would notice what had happened unless they had been looking at the ground when the balls appeared in a small flash of green.

While Jerry knew this would not stop Keith he hoped it would slow him down.

Flashes of green in the dark? Keith didn't expect that, and he almost fell over. Yeah, Jerry managed to slow him down alright. But it didn't help Jerry's case to do that. He could tell that Jerry was the one who put those there, and in a flash of green light.

Keith started to pick up speed again after making passed the bouncy balls. Jerry had managed to gain some distance, though.

That distraction had worked but Jerry could tell he still needed to make some more distance before he could get out of sight and teleport away.

Looking for anything he could use as a distraction knowing it was a bit juvenile but thinking it would probably work Jerry snaps his fingers and in a flash of lime-green pants Keith teleporting his pants several feet behind him.

“You got the wrong guy,” Jerry called behind him; he knew that it wouldn’t stop him from chasing him but lying could hurt too much at this point.

Jerry started looking for something else he could use for a distraction which he found passing a trash can. Snapping both fingers two banana peels appear with a small flash of lime-green right in front of Keith on the ground to try to slip him up. If it worked in Looney Toons it should work here.

	It... did work. Keith, in all of his pants-less glory, slipped on a banana peel and fell on his face. He skid, and got a nasty scratch. But he'd been through worse in his life. The teenage hero got up from the ground and kept running, hoping to catch up with Jerry again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	After see that Keith had fallen Jerry turned down the nearest alleyway and once out of sight still running closed his eyes and teleported back home. And when Keith finally turned the corner into the alleyway, Jerry was gone. There was absolutely no possible way he could have gotten completely out of range in that short of a time.

"Tch." Keith was definitly mad. He considered the possibility that Jerry might be a criminal. He'd have to ask Henry. "One thing's for sure, though. Dude's a teleporter."

But it was late, and Keith needed to get home. Rest assured, though- he was going to investigate everything he could about Jerry Carr.
