Getting organized
Once they're past the party, Jai, Iris and Cindy receive notifications of a time and place to meet for Speedforce Productions' initial set up meeting. Tess, of course, is invited, but doesn't need anything so formal. Steven even set up the twins' invitations to be on West-Allen time, so they should end up showing up around the time everyone else does.

He's rented out the party room of a pizza place in Keystone, where he can set up a projector and big screen and provide space for laptops and the like, after making sure the place had free wifi. Food is provided as a part of the meeting, with a few different types of pizza and a few different pitchers of soda, all labeled, are set out on the table.

"Candles you have to be careful how you set them up. May end up being too somber-religious in some cases and jar with the more pin-up aspects of the shoot. But it can still be done. I'm still voting on bond-girl but it's up to Cait herself and the underwater one seems like a pretty cool idea too."

"May be best to ask Cait," Iris said. "Can I be a bond girl?"

"Well... you can't really walk out of the water Ursula Andrews-and-Halle-Berry-style in November. It would be a bit weird. But I'm sure we'll think of something."

"I'm thinking, for November, if we're not doing Thanksgiving, we probably want to do something with Autumn - but if you miss the Bond girl theme this time, we can totally Bond Girl you up when we get to the action movies."

Iris sighed dramatically. "There goes my hopes for being a Bond Girl. Oh well."

"Hey, i think you'll look great with a scarf and gloves and something terribly skimpy otherwise, flitting among the leaves. And then just wait for the action girl skimpy outfits later."

"Maybe even let you get in some speedster goggles there. So what's the first action movie plan?"

"Well... I was hoping to get this most of the way done, at least through layout ideas, before getting too far into that... but this is a speedster meeting.

Tess, want to lay out our prospective notes for them?"

"We're pretty good on layout so far -- although I acknowledge your valid concerns on the candles, Jai," Tess says as she gets out the other set of notes. "Besides; we might want to leave a few last decisions to a meeting with everyone -- and when I've gotten you all those cameras."

"The first sci-fi/action film idea is distinctly another case of embracing the kitsch, but in which exact ways, we wanted to discuss with the three of you at least, first. The basics of the setting and plot is that it's a space opera -- little bit of Star Wars, little bit of Dune, little bit of classic '50s serials and whatever else -- featuring post-interstellar-colonization humanity and all. And for decades, at least, that civilization has been at the mercy on of the evil Syndicate, who can subjugate any planet with the threat of becoming completely isolated, cut off from food or medical tech or whatever it needs, because the Syndicate control all faster-than-light travel. Their eugenics program produces the only people with the reflexes and processing-speeds to pilot a ship through warpspace, or however we choose to put it. ...Until one of the victims of the eugenics program was rescued from a Syndicate resource ship. And her children grew up to be ridiculously fast, massively talented pilots, and a centerpiece for an economic resistance. Following the craziness so far?"

"We live in crazy, it's all good," Jai smiles. "I wonder what roles you need us for..." As if the set up wasn't making it clear enough.

"Well, you two would be playing the primary heroes. Tess would like to take the role of the head villainess. Since I'm mostly on camera and direction, I just have the henchman role, though there may be some complexity there... we'll see. Also thinking, if we can work it out with her management, casting Avia Free as the princess-escapee... Jai's love interest. Still working past that, but Avia would add some known-quantity power, and we could make the escape sequence a real escape."

Tess listens and nods. "One plot point that we'd like help determining an angle on is that they will be after the location of resources ships that the evil but impressively clever --" she smiles, "--villainess has kept carefully hidden from all but a few. And there are two ways this can go."

Tess checks her notes again. "Option 1. Either Hopefully-Avia escaping princess or some handsome young scientist they have to actually rescue has the information, and the full attack begins once they have acquired those people. In the course of the whole escapade, the evil executive sics one of her extremely stylish lackeys, another advanced product of the eugenics system, on them. Superspeed laser sword duel ensues, until Jai kills the guy."

Tess switches cards. "Other option: there's no way to get the most crucial information except out of the villainess's top pilot, who also happens to be the twins' elder brother, born before their mother was rescued. They manage to find out where he is from the other characters and go to rescue him -- but the syndicate's mental conditioning is pretty impressive, and there's a long superspeed laser sword battle before our hero and heroine have any chance of convincing him to turn on his extremely clever and elegant oppressor."

She looks at the others. "As a plot element, it has its strengths and weaknesses."

Jai raises his hand with a big smile. "I'm really good with all of those ideas. Steven do you pick death or betraying your elegant, clever and elegantly clever, oppressor? Choose wisely."

"This is where we kind of wanted some input. I'll be filming and directing, so didn't initially want to take too central of a role, or try and be all 'director-thinks-he-can-act', but it had some appeal. Plus, of course, potential for sequels if it does well with option 2. I'm willing to listen to feedback. Either way, I'd rather not go too Star-Warsish... actually reveal they know who the brother is ahead of that, not try and go for now-cliche'd reveal, if we move that direction."

"Having it be their brother does add an extra emotional component to the fight, and emphasizes that the hero and heroine are Extra Special, since she can't even arrange a fake-fair fight without using their own relatives. On the other hand, the first one keeps it simple. Bad guy is bad, and dies."

"Well, you were going to be one of the co-heroes of the story - you and Jai. And get your own love interest story and all... if you'd rather be a minion, we can just give Jai the starring role. Don't want to force you into the limelight, but figured you'd be all for being co-head stars."

Cindy nods to all this, still thinking. "Sooo. Simple Space Fighting With Escapes and Kissing, or Space Fighting with Escapes, Kissing, and Special Family Drama with Extra Brainwashing? Shall we just let that question simmer on the back burner for now, or any more thoughts?"

Jai smiles and shakes his head at his sister. "Man, can't make up your mind Irey? If you end up a good minion you're probably going to be my minion or copilot or something. Can't have that so preemptive promotion to superheroine for you."

"Well I'd say one lends itself a bit better to sequels but it's probably best just to focus on the first one and keep the other stuff in mind. Anything else on our to do list today?"

"Mostly trying to get a feel for the first few calendar shoots, mentioning the eventual plans, and possibly figuring out what we're doing for the second movie. The calendar isn't going to make enough to go straight to action, and I want something a little more active than a 'making of' - but not sure precisely what to do. Possibly mud wrestling or the like. Ideas welcome."
