Healing Process
Josh shifts slightly on his perch and sighs. It's dark out but he doesn't care. The healer's in Henry's backyard, up in a tree and in a relaxed position. He's got the hood of his sweatshirt up and is just staring up at the stars through the leaves. He can sense who's inside and he fights the urge to tear up again. He's just thankful his powers got rid of the telltale signs that he'd been crying earlier.

"Maybe I should just go tonight. What do you think?" he asks a cat that's perched in the tree with him. The feline yawns, stretches, and then walks away. Josh just sighs again.

	That gets Josh's attention. He takes a deep breath and hops out of the tree. He gives Henry a sad look and pushes his hood back. "You did?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"And I've hurt you, and I've hurt Katima, and I've hurt Avalon. And it was because I wasn't thinking. And I need to set it right, if I can." He steps away from the lean to look Josh in the face. "I know I don't deserve it after what I've done... but I have to ask a favor. I need to go after Avalon. I need to bring him back, at least long enough to talk to all three of you at the same time. And that means I need someone to watch over Coast City when I'm gone."

He looks into Josh's eyes, his own also wet. "Please... if not for me, then for Avalon, to give me a chance to set things right for him."

Joshua sighs. "He went back to Odym. Not too long ago. At sunset," he says, looking up to the stars. "Can't sense him anymore...not even faintly," there's pain in his voice.

He blinks and meets Henry's gaze. The request brings a shocked expression there too. "M-me? I...I'll do my best but I'm no Superboy or Kid Flash..." he trails off.

He's a bit nervous now too!

"Henry...he loves you," he says softly. "We both do..."

"I know," he replies. He can't bring himself to say he loves them too... but he realizes, despite the rapidity of it all, it's very possible he does.

Along with Katima, too.

Maybe he can figure out what he wants on his way to Odym, to retrieve Avalon.

"I... have a lot of things to figure out," he finally tells Josh. "I didn't realized how badly I fucked up until now. And I've got a lot to think about. Katima's going to stay... at least until I get back... so you two can watch the city together. But... when I get back... I want to talk to all three of you. Please."

He swallows. "I'm so sorry," he breathes quietly.

	Josh is a bit relieved when he hears he won't be watching the city alone. He didn't think he was quite ready for that. "Alright. I won't go anywhere," he says. You have nowhere to go, ya moron. Josh sighs and moves to grab Henry in a tight hug. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Henry hugs him back. He can't ask for forgiveness yet -- he needs to make things right first. "Thank you, Josh," he replies. "I'll be back... as soon as I can. Thank you." He holds Josh tightly for a long time before letting go... and heading towards the sky. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Y-you're welcome..." Josh trails off. "You better be back soon...you and Ava both," he says. The healer watches the second young man he cares so deeply for fly off into the stars and the tears start to fall again. You really, truly are pathetic, Joshua Casey. Pathetic.
