Henry sighs as he glides into his room. Felicity was one crazy bitch. Hopefully, the Oans can do something to help her regain her sanity. But those who protect love shouldn't be setting out black rings or making deals with psychic gorillas just to assure that love happens the way she wants it to.

He stretches after the long space flight, stretching his neck. He should probably check in on Avalon. He steps out of his room, goes down the hall to the first guest room, and knocks.

Avalon is still in his after-battle mode, which is actually a bit more grim and outspoken than he usually is. It takes him a bit to work back down to himself after a fight, he's just had too many years of bloodshed that ingratiated this response. Now that he is a Lantern, he doesn't have to worry about assassins and bombers, but old habits die hard.

When Henry knocks on the door, Avalon all but groans. He doesn't want to have to deal with Henry right now - his nerves feel shot from having to keep barriers up all the time around Henry and Katima. Avalon felt it was rude to just.. leak his emotions all over the place. It was easier when he kept them to himself. None the less, he doesn't ignore the knock.

"Come." he then barks, before he dissolves his uniform back into the jeans that he had worn when going flying.

	Avalon just pushes his aggravation down and forces himself to give Henry a tight smile. No, things were not alright, but he didn't find it his place to say anything. "I will be fine once I settle down." he then half fibs. "I get this way.. I guess you are not accustomed because this was our first real mission together." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Avalon just shakes his head and then looks away, his tone low as he says "No, not really Henry. I just.."

How did you break it to someone that you know something that they don't - namely - Avalon's empathy and how much Henry was hurting those around him. Finally, he forces himself to say something.

"Henry.. please be careful with Katima.. I don't want you to end up hurting her as well. I don't think that you understand what you do sometimes." he finally blurts out.

Avalon pulls away from Henry, his hands coming up to grab at his head. "It's been torture, Henry. You're such a whirl of emotions sometimes that I have to block them out for my own sanity. Josh is a mess because you ran off and forgot about him.. Not to say that Katima isn't lovely, but you didn't listen at all when I warned you about Josh." he then blurts out. "So for the sake of my peace of mind, will you listen this time and not leave a wake of broken hearts behind you? For once?"

"Of course you have no idea what I'm talking about! You're oblivious to everything around you!" Avalon finally growls, his voice raising. "Every time I try to tell you, you and I aren't having the same conversation! It's gotten to where I think that my translator is broken because you never get what I'm trying to say. You hear what you want and then go on with your happy little world and damn the consequences. Damn the people you hurt along the way."

"I'm not talking about that crazy bitch!" replies Avalon, his expression a mask of pain and anger. This is probably the second time that Henry has heard Avalon cuss - the first being what he called Donald. "You've been doing this quite well enough on your own! Do you even know what the word 'partner' means? Do you? Because that's another place that my translator is broken and it's hit a point where I can't take it anymore. You're so caught up in your own pleasure that you have no concept of the pain that you cause around you. But I do. I'm the one who comes along after you and fixes the hearts you've left crushed. I'm the one who has to sit in this forsaken room while you're sucking face with someone new one room over. I've hit a point where I just don't care anymore if you leave your life and the ones around you in wreckage because I'm numb from all this pain!"

"What pain?" Henry replies, starting to get angry now. "Look, I just came in to make sure you were alright, and that my friends were alright, because I know mind-controllers can mess with people, and I wanted to make sure you're good, but clearly, you're pissed off, and maybe I should leave you to stew in your own juices rather than have you start screaming at me about any random ideas that start popping into your head!"

"These are not ideas. I didn't tell you an untruth about the pain you have caused Josh. I would never lie to my partner about the pain that they have caused me." says Avalon, his voice taking on a deadly calm register. He's getting that focused thing going on Henry, the one he gets when going into some sort of battle.

"If you insist on breaking hearts like crockery, then at least promise to let it stop with Katima." he all but growls. "Of course, knowing my luck, you and I are once again having two different conversations and you don't get what I'm saying."

"See what I mean?" cries Avalon then, his hands pulling at his hair. He's almost frantic now as he says "You don't see how you hurt Josh, and you don't see how you could hurt Katima. You won't see when you crush her heart and leave her in the dust like all the rest of us!"

Angry, truly angry now, he presses a palm to his chest, his expression outraged, "I can't do this Henry. I can't keep doing this for the rest of however long I'm supposed to be around. Sometimes visions can be false and I fear that I was lead here by such mistakes. I've been miserable for weeks yet every time I try to talk to you about it you say one thing and do another!" he then scoffs, "That or when I try to go and find you, you already have taken your pants off with someone else. It's like you're rubbing it in my face - you ignore me and then find someone new to occupy your time."

Avalon just face-palms himself, his shoulders slumping. Henry isn't getting it at all.

"If you think that this has anything to do with your baseline, animal style of attraction, then no. That's not what I'm saying. See? You don't understand what partner means, and so you just don't get it. This is more than just fucking sex, Henry. This is more than just about pleasures of the flesh and about finding a pretty face to spend the night with. This is a sacred thing to me, Henry! And I don't even EXIST to you!" he cries.

"How am I telling you what to do, when I beg you to not cause misery to the others around you? If it weren't for me, Josh wouldn't even still be here - you hurt him that deeply. But you don't even see it. And the saddest part is that I've yet to be able to tell you why I've come because you don't understand a single word I say! I try and try again to connect with you and to look you in the eyes and see your soul but you are clouded with lust and avarice! Do you even have a soul, Henry? "

"No. You won't." replies Avalon softly, the hand on his chest tightening into a fist. For once, he doesn't bother blocking his own emotions, and lets them roll out of himself, aching and sore. He doesn't stop Henry's storming out though, he just watches Henry go, and then draws in a deep, shaking breath. He has a lot to get accomplished in a very short time, it seems. He didn't want to still be in this house when Henry returns. It just doesn't seem quite right, to Avalon.
