Long Day (Open to Atlanteans and Ty) @ 11:40 pm

[info]young_swimmer:

It had been the longest day in Cait's life. They had all been up at the crack of dawn today. Today was the day they were going to return Poseidonis to the ocean floor. They all had been up late at night making sure the last minute details were covered.

The city had been evacuated. The citizens had been taken to Cerdia and Tritonis during the week. It wasn't easy emptying a city. Ty and Cait arrived on Thursday and had helped with last minute repairs. It was easier to repair the city while it was on the surface and some structures also needed additional support for the trip down.

Arthur had even called in the JLA to help. She knew Ty could do it, she didn't have a doubt, but it was always wise to have contingency plans and she had agreed with Arthur on this decision. Thankfully the council had been sent to Tritonis and Arthur and Cait didn't have to deal with them during this.

When it was noon it was time to sink Poseidonis.

The Royal Family and Ty were in the water a little away from the city. Cait put all of her focus on the link she shared with Ty and her faith in him. The waters grew choppy and Poseidonis slowly started to sink. It took about two hours from start to finish before Poseidonis was once again on the ocean floor.

The job wasn't over though. They had to go through the city to see if anything had been damaged in the move. Compared to surface cities Poseidonis was small, but it still took them hours to go through it making sure everything was safe.

When they were done and had determined everything was structurally sound Cait and Ty went to Cerdia to inform the Atlanteans could return home. Garth went to Tritonis.

It would take awhile to get everyone back home, but Cait had made sure the first wave returned home safely. Tomorrow there would be more escorting the citizens home.

Cait was overtired but she couldn't sleep. She moved slowly through the gardens. The plants had all died during their stay on the surface and surface and they had been replaced by plants that could survive on the surface. Now they were all dying. They would have to be removed and new plant life would have to be planted. Such was the way of life in ever turbulent Poseidonis.
