Dying Slowly @ 10:14 pm

[info]headofthedemon:

(This takes place one week after these events)

Damien was experiencing deja vs as he exited the cab, tossing the wad of cash at the driver. His fever was still high, though he'd managed to successfully stumble his onto and off of a private airplane (hiding in the freezing cargo hold) and get to a cab. His stomach wound was healing, somewhat, but it still bled quite a bit when he checked it. It wasn't closing all the way, which was a problem. Grandfather had twisted the blade to make sure it didn't.

Morgaine would have taken him to a hospital and forced the doctor not to say anything.

Morgaine....

He couldn't believe she was gone.

Even in his feverish state, it takes him several seconds to pick the lock to Lian's door  (gods, he hoped this was her door) and get inside. The apartment is empty. He's managed to catch her while she was out. He closes the door and locks it, then walks over to her couch, where he passes out again.

This time, he would make sure his wife came home with him.

I'm Wide Awake and You're Still My Dream @ 11:00 pm

[info]young_swimmer:

There was the sudden intake of breath and Cait gasped, expecting water not air. For a second it felt like she was suffocating, but then her body adjusted to breathing air. She coughed a few times and drew in deep breaths. She was alive again.

Cait opened her eyes and blinked a few times. She looked around. None of her surroundings were familiar. At all. It wasn't Atlantis or Titans Tower. Where in Hades was she?

What happened? She remembered Oceanus' attack and the darkness and cold settling over her when he killed her. Then...gods of the sea...the walking nightmare. Attacking Atlantis. Killing so many and watching her father die by having his heart ripped out by his wife.

Ty. Tears formed in her eyes and spilled out at the thought of him as the memories of the walking nightmare came rushing back. Cait had used his love for her against him. By Dis, did she really do all of that? Did she cause so much death and destruction?

Ty. Where was he? She sat up and looked around searching frantically for Ty. Shouldn't he be here? He didn't die. She knew he didn't. She had watched William Hand take over, but it didn't kill him. He had to be alive. Cait reached out to him with her mind.

Ty, my love. Where are you?

Gotham By Daylight @ 11:12 pm

[info]raisingkane:

She was perched on a rooftop across from the Gotham Bank, peering down carefully with binoculars.

"Shouldn't I be in school?"

"Not today kiddo.  Got a hot tip there was going to be a bank robbery today.  You can't buy publicity like that."

"It's just that I had a test today and I've got a research paper do and..."

"Sweetie, trust me.  When you're a famous super-hero, you can find people to do that for you."

"...If you say so, Mom."

She shivered a little.  It was entirely too cold to be running around in short sleeves, a skirt, and thin tights.  But it was the costume her mother had insisted on.  Because it was what Flamebird wore.

"Police scanner just picked up a silent alarm.  You should go in.  Through the skylight.  Remember to say something dramatic.  Remind them who you are."

"Yes, Mom..."

Robin Kane fumbled with her grapnel, firing it onto the roof of the bank.  She'd swing over, then maybe come down through the skylight.  After she'd scoped out what was going on inside.

...She was going to get herself killed doing this, she just knew.  But try telling that to her mother...
