Settling In @ 12:36 pm

[info]shield_maiden:

The displaced Avengers had been taken back to the JLA headquarters and had been shown to quarters. Svalin may have stared at Jon a bit on the way back, but she looked away every time he looked at her or Vernique looked at both of them. There may have been some red on her cheeks when someone caught her looking at Jon.

Jon was familiar in a way, but Svalin couldn't place from where. It tickled at the back of her mind and would drive her crazy until she figured it out. For now she focused on what needed to be done.

Svalin dropped her belongings on the bed and pulled out her whet stone. She sat on the bed and started sharpening the edge of her sword. There was some time before they were to meet and discuss what was going to come next.

The hardest part (Open to JSA) @ 03:55 pm

[info]dc_adult:

It was one of the hardest things that anyone would have to do, but Todd Rice and his partner Damon Matthews were at the JSA Brownstone, with a couple of boxes in hand to get Mickey's belongings out of her room and bring them back to Kyle and Jennie. It wasn't fair to ask them to do it, as they were still adjusting to the fact that their child had been murdered by a psychopath who had an axe to grind with Kyle. It wasn't fair to Mickey, to have her life be taken from her at such a young age, and to have it taken so cruelly. And it certainly wasn't fair to her parents, to lose their child so suddenly.

Todd held Damon's hand as they made their way through the Brownstone to Mickey's room. Todd opened the door to his niece's room, a knot forming in his chest as they walked in. There were posters on the wall of bands and movies that Mickey liked, some clothes scattered on the floor here and there, a couple of stuffed animals on the bed, and framed pictures of her and her friends lined the dresser, nightstand, and book-selves.

"You going to be okay, honey?" Damon asked Todd, squeezing his hand, as Todd looked around the room, the knot in his chest getting tighter.

"Yeah..." Todd said, choking on his words a little. "I'll be fine."

The two men put their boxes on the bed, and started to go about clearing things out, Damon making his way to the closet, and Todd stared to clear out the dresser drawers. They had left the door open.

Meet and Greet @ 06:45 pm

[info]shield_maiden:

The Avengers were shown to quarters in the YJLA headquarters and given some time to get cleaned up and settle in. When the allotted time was up everyone on both sides were called to the meeting room. It would be a time to do formal introductions and figure out why the Avengers were here.

Svalin found the room without any problems and entered. It was empty and she took a seat in a chair that allowed her a good view of the door.

What time is it? It's Date Time! @ 11:33 pm

[info]3x2_9yz_4a:

For about the three hundredth time, Wendi checked herself over in the mirror.  It was just supposed to be a casual date (a post-holiday follow-up to the coffee from after the Christmas party), though it had gotten pushed back a bit after everything that had gone on.

God.  Poor Mickey.   Wendi still couldn't believe she'd run off like that.  The pep talk from Jerry had helped some, but she'd been skittish about showing her face around the brownstone ever since.

She swallowed.  That wasn't what tonight was about.  This was about having a life.  About moving on and getting back to normal.  About being Wendi Tyler and not just Hourgirl.

She checked the clock.  Zack should be there to pick her up soon.

She checked the mirror again.   Did she have time to change?  No.  She was just going to have to go with it.
