Rex hasn't been big on birthdays since he was ten years old. Since his father disappeared, every year has just been one more that he hasn't hasn't seen his father. Having Nic around makes things nice, but today, Rex is seriously reconsidering his idea of giving up drinking. An all night bar-craw with one of the few friends he has that ends up in a fight and a night in lock-up.

It sounds like fun, but he can't. His sister needs him.

So, tonight, Rex Stewart starts in on the heavy bag in his home gym, deciding that spending the evening sparring is better than nothing.
