Out and About and Attacked @ 01:31 am

[info]tiny_tornado:

Traya walked down the steps of the New York Public Library, her book bag weighed down with books.  She'd needed quite a few for her last research project for science class, which was going to be a paper on robotics.  Granted, she already had plenty of that at home, what with her dad and all, but there were also papers published by Robert Crane and Will Magnus and Niles Caulder that she hadn't read before.

A cool paper topic to write about and a date with Jai coming up.  Life was pretty dang good.

Poor Planning @ 04:24 am

[info]healingbug:

Josh really should have brought a map or asked directions.  He's a little lost today in Coast City. He volunteered to go pick up a couple things at the store while Henry was at school and Ava flying about. Of course he doesn't realize that he has no idea where he's going until he's out in the city.

"I...really need to think things through better," he remarks to himself as he walks down the street. He supposes he can just sense his way to Henry or Ava and they'll help him out but he doesn't want to be a bother. "Let's see," he mutters, looking around as he walks.

Team Dynamics @ 05:11 am

[info]batdaughter:

As far as she could tell, this was all bullshit and wasn't getting any better. The transition into the care of her father was still rough. Marissa didn't know if it were safe to get to know him at all, especially after discovering that he was...had been Batman. It offered her an outlet, though. After discovering she was hell-bent on being out in the guts of the city to track down the slime who murdered Vicki, Marissa got her own cape, her own job.

Robin.

Batman's sidekick.

Except Daddy Dearest wasn't Batman. Terry was and Bruce had turned her over to him completely. This soured with Marissa. Who the hell was this...kid that he could have authority over her? That alone irritated her. The costume she was supposed to wear irritated her more. Marissa was not wearing the green-red-yellow disaster. It was ugly. And obvious. No. No way.

She had spent the better part of the past two weeks redoing the costume. Batman wore black. Okay, fine, no black. But there was nothing wrong with a blood red so deep it was almost onyx. It called up in her the sight of her mother's spilling blood. It drove her, that hue. Geared up completely save for her mask, she idly noted that she looked a touch like a red Batman with boobs. She didn't care.

But Terry might.

"I'm here."

And early for a change instead. Reporting for patrol always pissed her off.

Open Waters @ 12:01 pm

[info]deep_sea_sword:

AJ is currently swimming north on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Ever since Cthulu was stopped, he has had much more time to himself. Henry's party a few days ago was the last time he had seen another person, but he preferred exploring the vast seas which stretched on for miles. AJ had grown up his whole life living in an aquarium learning about the oceans and all the creatures in it, but had never before been allowed to explore the world. Now was his chance to do that, while still searching for his father, of course.

Right now he's far below the surface, and it is quite dark, though his night vision helps. He sees the skeleton of a blue whale, stripped clean by sharks and hagfish and other scavengers. Other than that, the are is mostly rocky and barren, with the ridge line high above him like a mountain.

Moonlight over Gotham @ 02:49 pm

[info]newimprovedbat:

Batman was on patrol by himself this evening. Which was just as good, as he was still irked over having been "assigned" a Robin.

His 'sidekick' wasn't with him tonight, though. Tonight Batman was on his own, gliding over the rooftops of Gotham.

Landing on top of a building across from Gotham's First National bank, Batman activated the night-vision on his mask. There'd been rumors of a break-in.

Star City Escapade @ 03:37 pm

[info]sonic_arrow:

He stood down the street with a trick arrow nocked on his longbow.  Keith had a pickpocket in his sights.  Ready.  Aim.  Fire!  The arrow whizzed through the arrow and the tip opened up into a boxer's glove.

"Ugh!"

The pickpocket was nailed in the back of the head.  Another trick arrow nailed him in the back of the knee, and he buckled to the ground.  "Hahaha!" Archer, as Keith aptly named himself, started down the street to recover the stolen goods.

(no subject) @ 05:31 pm

[info]first_son:

Jon spends a lot of time up here, just above the clouds where he's hidden from most viewers, even in Metropolis, where sometimes people do look up. But with X-Ray vision, he can look down up on the world, just watching people move by far below.

Marathon Girl @ 06:38 pm

[info]imperiousamazon:

It's a nice sunny day and Corinna is taking advantage of it. She is in shorts and a tank top and is running. She thinks nothing of the fact that people can see her leg since she isn't wearing her boots that go up high enough to hide the injury from the world.

It actually doesn't look that bad. No one should be able to guess there is something wrong with her leg. She is just going to make a round of one of the residential zones in San Fransisco. Then once she is done she supposes she will go out for a short swim somewhere. The day is quite lovely after all.

Shopping @ 06:47 pm

[info]grape_taffy:

Allanah is her mother's daughter sometimes and that "sometimes" often involves clothes.  She will happily explain - in detail - the difference between eggplant and aubergine.  She knows the importance of designers and prefers fostering smaller ones.  Perhaps most importantly, she prides herself on being able to find great clothes for any allowence level.

Most of the clothes she finds aren't for herself, which is common.  In her well-stufed bags are clothes for Keith, because being a rich white boy and dressing in hip hop clothing still makes you look like Vanillia Ice.  Cait is hoooooopeless, so hopfullyl her (and her boy) will like the gold mini-dress she found.  Jai and Iris have some breathable shirts that don't look like gym clothes.  Dan has a few ties that actually compliment his skin tone.  Her and Dad now have another set of comfy Nick & Nora PJs.  The new guy is going to be confused by the job interview shirts, but he'll cope.  Henry's picks look great on, but his tastes run to "after hours," clothing.  Sometimes, you have to be practical.

After the Party @ 06:51 pm

[info]compassionate:

The guests had gone and the house was empty.  People had dispersed and Katima had insisted on helping Henry clear up the mess.  It wasn't as bad as she thought it might be.  For it to have been a party, everyone had been very good.  Nothing was broken, just empty bowls and cans and cups.  Being Lanterns made cleaning that much easier so in short order, it was time to unwind, to call it a night.

Katima stood at Henry's door.

"I'm ready to go to bed now.  Did you want me in a particular spot in the bed?  I probably won't need much in the way of blankets.  It's very comfortable here."

She smiles.

What You Can't Find In Ivy Town... @ 08:39 pm

[info]sonoftheatom:

It's a nice day out today. Nice enough that the sunshine tempts Dinadan to carry his books outside and do his homework there instead of in his bedroom or in the lab. The birds (not over his head, so they can't poop on him or his books) are singing and the breeze is rustling through the leaves of nearby bushes (which are not full of bugs that may try to crawl into his ears unexpectedly), and he is wearing a sunhat in case he falls asleep.

Life is good.

He covers a yawn with his hand and turns the page, idly scribbling away on his scratch paper.

Wake Up Call Remix - Mark Ronson ft. Mary J Blige @ 11:00 pm

[info]sonic_arrow:

Takes place before Keith gets kidnapped.

Star City was boring.  Keith was rich, and he had a private jet.  It may have taken him quite a few weeks to plan it, he finally decided to take visit Gotham City.  Ollie and Dinah had connections in that neck of the woods, so he wasn't without supervision.  In fact, even the papparazzi had an eye on the young Queen.

The jet landed and Keith somehow managed to go incognito in Gotham City.  He stopped into a closeby Starbucks for some coffee.  He also knew that the particular neighborhood he was in had some interesting sights to see.

The Evening After: @ 11:05 pm

[info]lantern_kid:

Henry and Katima spent much of the day in bed. Eventually, however, they needed to get out of bed, and he's invited Katima to come with him to get a bite to eat.

He's helped her disguise herself with the powers of the ring so that she looks human, and taught her how to place the battery-staff in a pocket dimension, the way he does with his own battery.

As they step out of the ice cream shop, he gives her a hip-bump. "So. What do you think of Earth food?"
