It's an emotion, taking me over....
Iris laid on her stomach in her bedroom at home.

She was bored. Her homework was done, there was nothing good on t.v., and almost everyone was busy. If there was one thing that Iris hated, it was being bored. She twisted a strand of hair around her finger, looked out her window, and heaved a sigh.

Why was there never anything to do around here?

The radio, which had been playing an upbeat Taylor Swift song, suddenly cut off in the middle of the chorus.

"Word that the Rainbow Raiderettes have appeared in downtown Keystone City has reached us here at KX293 FM. The Raiderettes are currently making their way through the stores at the Golden Ridge Plaza...shoppers are in a panic...."

Iris didn't need to hear anymore. She hopped up, grinning. Finally, something to DO. Quickly changing into her Impulse costume, Iris zipped out of the house, and down to Golden Ridge Plaza. She didn't think to call Jai or her Dad.

She could take them with one hand behind her back.

She was, after all, the Fastest Girl Alive.

	Iris blinked at the sight of the newcomers. "Where did you guys come from!" Nevermind that. She grabbed Ruth's arm to move her out of the way of the yellow blast. They needed help. Damnit, he's not sure about the rest of them, but at least one of them is still firing, and there's too many of them to try and fight.

He tries to get their attention, turning on the charm, figuring, as fast as Iris is moving, they can get out quick if he buys them time.

He does his best to nudge Ruth, hoping she gets the idea.

Damn, he is going to be in SO much trouble.

	"C'MON!" Iris ran, with Ruth in tow. "This way!" She led them down an a hallway where was positive where the Raiderettes wouldn't follow her. Once they were they, she pulled out her Titans comm-link, placing a call to the Tower. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

After his little act to distract about half the Raiderettes, he'd managed to ditch them, somehow. He got the impression a couple of them might not have wanted to fire at the cute boy or he'd probably have been toast.

But that might have been better than what Ruth was going to do to him.

"Uhm..." he ponders, trying to sift through the sudden rush of information to the brain they'd gotten earlier.

Ruth glares at him, takes another deep breath, and then gets to addressing Iris. "All things considered, I think we're supposed to be the new Hawk and Dove," she says briskly. "Which was definitely not on my agenda for the day, but I guess one could do worse. But I've also got a hunch something's...off somehow. Goodness knows I'm having a hard time feeling like anyone who should be calling herself Dove at the moment."

He lets Ruth handle the talking, she's better at it, always has been. At least when it comes to serious stuff. He has the gift of gab for getting along with people he's not trying to impress or talk about anything particularly important with. Especially girls. Sometimes way too much.
He focuses instead on getting straight to the groveling. "I'm sorry - I was trying to cause a distraction so you could get her out of there... it was all I could think of. You don't think I'd seriously...?"
