He reminds himself that he couldn't be everywhere at once and that she did need to have a successful job here and there not to arouse suspicion that she was being his mole. But still, it felt like a blow to his pride. He should have caught her.
"Your birthday's coming up?" He gives her a wide-eyed innocent look. As if she'd actually believe he didn't know that already.
