Moonlight over Gotham
Batman was on patrol by himself this evening. Which was just as good, as he was still irked over having been "assigned" a Robin.

His 'sidekick' wasn't with him tonight, though. Tonight Batman was on his own, gliding over the rooftops of Gotham.

Landing on top of a building across from Gotham's First National bank, Batman activated the night-vision on his mask. There'd been rumors of a break-in.

He doesn't step away. As the glass explodes, the shards flying at him simply stop in midair before they hit him.

He waves to Batman again, as if inviting him to come down to talk.

Batman scowled. A batarang in hand, he glided in through the now broken window.

"We can do this either the easy way...or we can do it the hard way," he said with a snarl when he landed. "It's your call."

"The easy way works for me, Batman," he replies.

And swarming in behind Batman, suddenly, are ten police officers, slamming into the dark knight, trying to take him down.

Donald smiles. "Their minds aren't their own, Batman... will you hurt them for being forced to do this?"

Donald clearly doesn't know Batman very well. "I'll make sure to give them my heartfelt apologies when they're back to normal," he said as he threw a bolo at pair coming at him, a net tossed at couple more.

But more are coming. Two fire their tasers, while the remaining four close distance, swinging their nightsticks.

Damn. He could work with being outnumbered, but this many was just ridiculous. Batman jumped back to avoid being tasered, throwing another bolo. Only to get clubbed by a couple of nightsticks. It knocked him onto the ground.

The cops don't let up, refusing to give him even a moment's hesitation. They take turns beating the prone Batman with their clubs.

Donald stands back and smiles.

Batman managed to kick one squarely in the gut. He hopped back to his a feet, a little dazed from taking that many hits.

Donald doesn't let up. The police continue swarming Batman... and his opponent merely raises an eyebrow, sending a brutal psychic blast towards the dark knight.

The psychic blast knocked Batman off his feet and into a wall. Grunting, he attempted to get up, but found his vision swirling in front of him. In a matter of seconds, his entire world went black.

Donald smirks. I have the Batman secured.

He's curious -- knowing the face of the Batman could be handy.

He peels the mask off the unconscious vigilante, and frowns. It's a teenage boy. No one he recognizes, of course -- not that he expected to recognize him. But it's still useful information.

Leaving the mask behind, he throws the Batman over his shoulder.
