Council Meeting
Below or above the surface, Atlantis was Atlantis. Not much had changed in the city and with the people even though it was now an island on the surface of the water. There was still rebuilding to do, but the population of the city went about their daily lives and politics and government never took a break.

It was Cait's first weekend in Atlantis as part of the deal with her mother and Arthur. Ty was with her and so far Arthur had been on his best behavior. Ty was stressed and Cait was stressed, but they were able to handle it. For now.

Today was a council meeting and Cait was looking forward to it. She had an ace up her sleeve and with any luck, after the meeting she won't be betrothed to Cerdian.

She took a deep breath and walked into the council chambers.

"As a father and a king, Ty, I need you to be completely honest with me at this moment: can you do this without causing yourself any permanent harm?" Arthur asks.

"It wouldn't do for you to pull this off and injure yourself permanently. Caitria would blame herself for any misfortune that fell upon you and I will not have that." he says.

"And what preparations must Atlantis take before you can do this?" he asks further.

	"Yes, sir. As long as I stay calm and focused, which Cait will help me with, I'll be just fine. I would suggest temporarily emptying the city - I can move the city, with a combination of powers, but it might be a bumpy ride down." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Time to fess up about it. "Ty and I share a mental link," Cait admitted and hope her father wouldn't react too strongly to that. "I can keep him grounded and calm enough to do this."

She nodded. "Emptying Poseidonis may be for the best. We can have General Nakesh and General Joette organize the citizens and have the troops do a sweep of the city to make sure we have everyone out before we do this. Repairs are easier on the surface, so is there anything that needs to be fixed before we submerge the city? We may want to send a messenger to Tritonis about our plans as well."

Arthur does not like the idea of his daughter's thoughts being on constant display for anyone (except him, but he's her father and that is perfectly fine). He wants to say something. He is about to, but then he can almost see Mera's disapproving glare when when it gets back to her that he tossed Ty through a wall for taking advantage of Cait.

So Arthur takes a deep breath and lets the comment go. Now is not the time for another fight.

"A few more of the towers need to be repaired, but construction should not take much longer with our mages aiding in the reconstruction. I expect we would need a few more days, the weekend at the most. We could begin an evacuation in the meantime, and keep it as orderly as possible.

I can have the Generals get to work on that immediately." he says.

"And yes, contacting Tritonis about this will give our people a choice in where to go. Ty, how soon will you be ready to do this?" he asks.

	It's to help him control his powers, Cait explained to her father. Ty can lose control if he's not grounded and gets stressed. He doesn't invade my privacy or I his. "What would you like me to do?" Cait asked. She had agreed to do her duties to Atlantis and she would do them. She would not go back on her word. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I'd have you do exactly what you said you would; let the people see you with Ty and allow them to get used to the idea. It also might help to have you explain to them what he will do so that there is no confusion." Arthur says.

"Public speaking is a requirement of royalty." he says with a small smile.

"Of course, you already know that, don't you, Minnow?" Arthur asks. He remembers Cait's various addresses to the people of Atlantis...also known as any school of fish she could charm into standing still, which was a great many of them.

Cait blinked. It had been a long time since her father called her Minnow. It had been his own nickname for her when she was young and he was the only one who called her that. He hadn't called her Minnow since she had left to go live with Grandfather.

Cait gave him a smile. "I will do what is needed," Cait said dutifully.

She took Ty's hand and held it. "I would like you to be with me when I am here."
