Will made sure his mom was well taken care of this day. It was not just a day to celebrate the fact his mother was just that, but he had an important admission to make today: he was going to tell his mother that he had a girlfriend.

So he surprises his mother with breakfast in bed, as he usually does. And waits for her to finish so he can spring the news.

Mary had been happily asleep. She enjoyed the warmth of the bed and how clean it smelt. But she was up when Will came with breakfast.

"Oh Will! This looks great!"

"Thanks, Mom," Will said, placing the tray down. He had his normal Mothers Day fare: french toast with blueberry syrup (and with a little touch of cinnamon), eggs over easy, and a glass of orange juice.

"A-also...ummm...."

Well, now his news is stuck in his throat.

And she looks forward to it. She loves it. She also wishes that he wouldn't stammer when he wanted to say something. There was nothing he could do that would upset her.

He will be getting a hug. And thank goodness nothing went flying.

"When do I get to meet her? Oooh! I'll cook dinner!" She is bouncing in an excited manner. Oh look Will, Mom is happy!

That covers everything. It would be awful to try feeding a vegan a pot roast. Or to make cheese cake for a vegan who is lactose intolerant on top of that.

"I like her." And she won't say anything about ages. Avia and Will are both good and smart. They'll know how fast they feel safe going.

"Organic is fine. I can get a free range roast."
