Houseguests Hanging Out
The prospect of going back to school has Josh a bit nervous. He's not worried about grades or anything like that, confident he can handle the material. It's all those people. But thankfully, he doesn't have to go yet.

Instead, Josh is staying at Henry's place while the Green Lantern is at school. And since he doesn't want to be a complete mooch, the healer's in the kitchen cleaning. He hums a little tune while he finishes the dishes. "There..." he trails off as he completes the task.

	Josh is rather surprised by this news. "Wait...your mother and father were two different species?" he asks, curious. " "Flying would be an awesome power...feeling the wind in your hair and see the world zipping by below. It's amazing. Thank you for taking me up here, Ava," he says, flashing a grin. 	"It's a bit of a long story." laughs Avalon, as he nods his head to Josh's question of his parentage. He then sighs, relaxing into the caress of the breeze, his eyes closed and lips smiling. 	"I'd like to hear it sometime," Josh replies. "If it's okay, that is. No need to dredge up anything you don't wanna talk about," he adds. "Thank you," he says. "I do like it up here," he says. "I like to be alone sometimes." Avalon says softly as his eyes turn away from Josh. "Sometimes I need it."

He draws in a deep breath and shrugs his shoulders as he says "My mother's people are naturally precognitive - when she met my father she saw their future together and simply didn't fight it. She became sick while pregnant with me and they were forced to return to Nalor.."

It wasn't painful, so much as.. boring and.. droll to Avalon. He found his life much more interesting since he had met the Blue Lanterns and chosen to be part of their corps.

	Josh looks down sadly. "I know what you mean. We all do sometimes. I just...well...unless I work at quieting it. I've always got this awareness of the life around me. "I suppose so, she got over it long ago." replies Avalon with a smile to his lips. "She and Father are still on Nalor.. after the civil war, they stayed behind to keep an eye on things for me. When the Blue Lanterns came to take me into Space, someone had to fill the space that my leaving left."

Avalon longed for his wings, but he knew better than to make them come back now - it was easier to be wingless, despite how much he wanted to feel the wind through his feathers.

	"I was." says Avalon softly, humbly in all honesty. He shifts in the air, rolling onto his back as he gets comfortable and says "I started the war, actually.. and ended it too. 	"Wow," Josh remarks. He's honestly not sure what to feel about that. "I'm glad you were able to free your people," he says eventually. The healer goes quiet again, just watching Avalon. "Ava? Avalon was content to be quiet with Josh - that sort of comfortable silence feeling right. When Josh asks about his wings though, the boy hrms some, then scratches at his head and says "Well.. like.. confined. But it doesn't hurt the way folding them up or trying to hide them does."

He then looks to Josh, grinning as he says "I wonder if your healing would work on me too.. Since I'm not human or form Earth."

	Josh nods at the answer. The healer stares at the Lantern's back for a long few minutes, just pondering the readings he's getting. The question surprises Josh and his brows knit up for a moment. 	Avalon starts to laugh, his expression playful and teasing as he says "So I can just chop an arm off and we see.. or I get a paper cut?" He then thinks on things for a moment, and asks softly "What do you sense when you touch me?" Josh winces. "Please...let's not chop off limbs. I still feel a little chill from what that Black Hand weirdo almost did to Henry's arm. I can feel when people get hurt and it is not nice," he says.

He doesn't resist his hand being moved and chuckles. "Well aside from the stuff I can sense when I don't touch you...I can feel you have a very nice body, Ava," he blushes as he says this.

Closing his eyes, the healer focuses. "You're...different. A hybrid species obvious. I can sense some Nalorian," he guesses at what people from Nalor are called. "and some that are incredibly close to human."

"Wow.. that's cool..." Avalon says with deep honesty. He had no idea that he was practically half human (with a few genetic modifications). It was odd how Josh's power felt, like it was warm and honeyed and.. odd. His compliment though is almost lost, until Avalon realizes what Josh has said.

"I'm skinny, sometimes I wish I'd hurry up and mature so that I can get past being all skinny and awkward." he confesses softly, his eyes fluttering open to slits as he gazes at Josh.

	Josh isn't entirely aware of the feelings his powers cause in others but he does smile. "You're not skinny, Ava," he says. "You're just built differently. You've got a very nice and healthy body. Avalon flushes a bit, and then gives Josh a shy smile. "Well.. My father is a very big man, I take more after my mother in that respect. She's tiny and delicate.."

He gives his body an odd arch, and then growls a bit under his breath in irritation. Having his wings put away really does bother him but.. what else can he do?

They've been drifting a bit, slowly towards the park. Avalon shifts onto his belly and looks down, saying "It looks just like a picture up here, doesn't it?"

"Well, we don't always take directly after our parents. The rest of the family comes into play as well. I mean my mother was a tiny little thing and I don't know how accurate the statue at the Flash Museum was but I really look nothing like my father unless you count the fact that both our eyes can glow," he shrugs.

He blinks at the growling and arching and looks over. "You okay?" he asks, concerned. He looks down and nods. "Yeah," he says. "But a lot nicer."

"I'm fine. I just hate having my wings put away is all." replies Avalon with a smirky little smile. He rolls onto his back again and looks up towards the sky and the clouds above them, his expression rather thoughtful.

"Sometimes I wonder why I was sent here.. what is going to happen and my part in it." he then confesses, "Something big is happening, I just know it.."

Josh can't help but chuckle. "Oh, is that all?" he teases just a little. "I like your wings. They're really amazing," he idly muses.

The healer blinks a few times at the thoughtful confession. "We all wonder why we're where we are from time to time," he replies. "Something big?" he asks. Josh closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He concentrates on shutting the rest of the world out and just sensing all the life around for several hundred miles. A smile forms on his face and he opens his eyes. "Well I don't know about the future but things are nice and peaceful now."

"For now. It's just the quiet before the storm, though." replies Avalon. "My mother is precognitive. She told me that things would be very dark for me before they got better.. It just makes me wonder, y'know? She'll never tell me what she means though, because she says it'll affect my choices."

Sighing out a breath, Avalon smiled up at the sky as he says "I'm glad that I can't tell the future. It's a lot more fun to walk through dreams and sense what others are feeling." he glances to Josh, "That's how I knew that you might be hurt if Henry was a dumbass.. But please don't tell him that. I've kind of.. smudged the lines and not told him about any of my powers because I don't want to make him afraid."

"Yea... it's rather surprising I can do it - Dreamwalking is rare among Nalorians." murmurs Avalon. "I don't mention it a lot of the time because it can be threatening, you know? Makes people not want to trust you when they think you can violate them like that.."

He laughs some, then says "They don't even realize that I can't hurt them in their dreams.. but they can hurt me." he then rolls over and grins at Josh and says "You've heard all about me. I keep talking about myself in hopes that it'll put you enough at ease so that you might tell me some about yourself."
