The score board reads: The Universe 10, Atlantis, 2
Ash had worked on being calm. Garth had helped her learn to do that. She had learned more about doing that on her own and so she read the report while the three court mages who had been assigned this task watched her expression. There had been so many reasons for celebration. People were alive. Atlantis was saved.

But this didn't bring joy to Asherah Curry's heart. "Then you are certain of this," she asked looking up.

The first of the mages spoke. "We are sorry. We did everything we could my lady."

The next nodded. "If Atlantis had not been in turmoil when you first arrived things might have gone differently."

The last shook his head. "I am sorry but I can not let them give you false hope, Princess, I am certain without a measure of a doubt that the creature's magic cut off any way for us to follow your path back to your world. I do not think you will ever return home in this life time or the next."

She looked back down at the report again and suddenly felt she did not want to stay here. She suddenly felt a sharp lance of grief from hearing and reading everything given to her. She missed her true home.

"Thank you for trying. I must take my leave of you." She would not break down in front of them. Instead she would retreat to the still damaged royal gardens and find something to hide behind. She was going to have a good cry because after everything that had happened this stung the worst.

She did not know though that the mages would feel duty bound to report this to Mera and Arthur. For Asherah is still a child an they feel the King and Queen would like to know what is happening in the life of their daughter from another world and that it seems she will never be able to leave.

	Mera was the next stop on the notification tour, and she berated them harshly for giving Asherah the information before her or Arthur. The enormity of what they had to say to the girl needed someone there for her and provide reassurance that she was still among family. She dismissed them and went to find Ash. Oh it had been a grave mistake for them. Arthur was almost certain to react just as badly to Asherah being told this on her own.

The guards though are quite helpful. They know she went to the gardens. Just not where exactly. Ash herself is not very good at hiding though because in a fit of teenager anger she pitches her shoes across the garden as hard as she can.

That rock totally looked at her funny.

	She might just. The whisper of magic is on her hands again. Of course that goes against everything she is taught. Don't look to a target in anger. So she takes a few deep breaths in and out and lets go of the spell. "I don't think lashing out will help me at all." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Talking... would serve me better," she said with a sigh. She hated admitting that. "I had the court mages look into if I could go home. I needed to know. They--" She gets up and starts to pace. "I didn't have friends back on ... Back home," she admits. " I was not allowed anywhere without guards. Father was very protective and even stricter with me than he tries to be with Cait here." Oh that did help her giving her a 'business as usual' attitude when it came to Arthur's moods. That didn't mean she still wasn't both shy and very sheltered.

"I... am unsure about my status here, as far as family goes. I don't wish to become a tool. Or have the court start to.... You know they're bullies, don't you? Big. Giant. Nagging bullies who stick their noses into everything. Thank the Gods I decided to not tell them when I turned sixteen. I dare not imagine what foolishness they would think up next. I am not someone they should feel they can bend to their whims. I'm a princess. I.... should learn to put my foot down."

"You should." Mera patted the spot next to her as an invitation for Ash to sit with her. "They are bullies and they feel they should be included in everything, no matter how small and unconnected to the throne. I encourage you to make your life your own. We have much reason to celebrate, and I would hope you can find it in your heart to accept that we are here for you. You're strong. You will overcome this and make it your own."

	Ash takes the invitation without going back to being nervous. "You think I should rebuild then," Ash states. Then gives a weak smile. "It makes sense. Like what you said when I first got here. Ash had calmed down after the talk with Mera. Of course she still had half a mind to take her temper out on any rocks that looked at her funny.

To help sooth herself though she went to one of the many side rooms. She was going to try reading. The palace had always been huge and she hadn't expected to run into anyone. Not when it seemed like everyone was trying to give her space.

"Oh. I-I.." She gulps in air." I can leave you alone if you'd like. I don't want to be a bother."

Cerdian doesn't even have to turn around. The nervous energy he feels around him can only come from one person.

"No, Asherah. I'd prefer not to be alone right now, actually. Please sit down." Cerdian says, looking over the book on the small table before him. He sits with his legs-crossed, staring down at it.

"You seem...troubled." Cerdian says. "Would you like to talk about it?"

Anything to take his mind off of his own problems just now.

"No I couldn't have. Even though I was the younger sibling I was taught that duty comes first. Before everything. It makes me wish I was like Cait... because she at least embraces her feelings."

She shrugs slowly. "East Titans. They said I was always welcome. And... It's nice. I wasn't goo at having friends of my own. And I'm not stammering as much anymore. Big plus."

	"Not very well," she says with a sigh. "I tried to keep up but I had to focus on our people. And so.... I had to shelve my studies and just keep working. "I can't forget this place. It is still home. And I'll do everything I can to make sure King Orin and Queen Mera understand I will always love Atlantis."

She leans back.

"Though I want a life outside of this. I know that even though I am a Princess I am not truly.... a Princess of this Atlantis. It leaves me feeling like an outsider. So I just need something of my own. Something where I don't need to worry about not being from here originally."

People keep saying that. She just doesn't know how to take that to heart. Her expression goes blank as she gives this serious thought.

"Then I will have to find out what I truly desire from this life. It is not an easy task. When.... Everything went to hell I just stopped thinking about what I might want."

She had even made plans for if she turned eighteen while on the throne. Thank Poseidon that did not come to pass.

	Cerdian ponders that for a bit. There is a great deal of the world he's never seen and he's not sure where he'd start. "I would like to see London, first, followed by Australia. Both of these places sound like a lot of fun. I thought I would see them with someone special, once, but...not anymore. Maybe someday I will still see them." he says. (Reply to this)(Parent)
