Showdown in Brazil
The helicopter carrying the members of the Suicide Squad, Damien Wilson, Morgaine King, and Slade Wilson made closed in on its target. The League of Assassins Compound in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. The helicopter bore the appearance of one the helicopters that the League used frequently, so they would be able to get in without much hassle.

The pilot informed Damien that they would be touching down in ten minutes, and the assembled group looked to him for briefing.

"He stood between me and my wife. Why does no one /understand/ that?" Damien says, exasperation coloring his tone. He was sick of being harangued for doing what any man would do when faced with someone trying to keep him from his wife.

"Your precious Atlantean would not have been involved had you not deserted me like some thief in the night, Lian. I forgave you for lying to me, for betraying my trust. That is easily as grievous as dealing with a man who threatened harm against my person and my people.

Yet, you only see him as...what? Some hero? A savior? He acted foolishly and died like a fool, Lian. I have no pity for him and nor should you. And he's made it clear that he will have nothing to do with you so long as you and I are together." Damien says coldly.

"Or do you expect him to be kind to our children when he knows where they come from?" he asks.

"He /will/, Lian. He would have taken it out on you had I not been there. He can wield forces of nature. He would make your children into his personal slaves simply to spite me and to make you pay for not loving him." Damien says.

"And you will go back to a place where you can possibly see him. I cannot believe this, Lian. How can you not see what is happening?" Damein asks.

"Lian, /I/ love you more than anyone else in the world. I would, and have, killed for you. I would, and have, died for you and our children. Do /not/ force me out of their lives.

Please choose our family. I am begging you." Damien says, falling to his knees before her.

She sighed.

"But this...this isn't about him, Damien. I can't raise our children in the League of Assassins, Damien. I'd be raising them into everything that I was taught against.

I wish...I wish it didn't have to be like this. I wish we could go somewhere and put the League of Assassins and everything else behind us. I wish I knew if I was still in love with you like I used to be.

But you won't leave the League, and I don't know how I feel anymore. I'm sorry but I have...I have to go."

She was serious.

After everything they'd been through, that they'd done together...after getting pregnant with his children, she was going to walk away from him. Lian was going to go back home, taking his children for good...and she was going back to be with /him/.

Damien had never felt so defeated in his life. What had all of this been for, if she was just going to leave him in the end?

He stands up, ignoring the pain and the rupturing of his stiches as he turns and plants himself in his chair at his desk.

"Then I cannot keep you here." Damien says quietly, looking away from Lian.

"This is clearly what you desire. Please go, Lian. My sister and your uncle will take you back to America." Damien says, feeling the warmth of his blood sleep from the bandages of his stomach wound.

"The Atlantean will hurt you and our children through his magic someday, Lian. On that day, you will see him as he truly is, and you will think of me." Damien tells her.

Lian went to leave, and for a moment, it seemed like she was going to turn around and take it all back. She paused, her hand on the doorway, standing there as her shoulders began to shake.

Lian wiped tears from her eyes, before shaking her head and leaving the room to go find the Suicide Squad.

She had to do this. She had to leave him. There was no other choice.

	Damien considers pushing himself out of his chair and running after her. Begging her to take him back and swearing to leave the League if she will. But there is no point to it. She will always want to leave and he is done placating her. He lets her go, watching his last hopes for a normal life leave with her. (Reply to this)(Parent)
