Showdown in Brazil
The helicopter carrying the members of the Suicide Squad, Damien Wilson, Morgaine King, and Slade Wilson made closed in on its target. The League of Assassins Compound in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. The helicopter bore the appearance of one the helicopters that the League used frequently, so they would be able to get in without much hassle.

The pilot informed Damien that they would be touching down in ten minutes, and the assembled group looked to him for briefing.

White Ghost drags Lian into view before the Suicide Squad, pulling her hair and placing his wicked looking knife near her belly.

"Stand down or someone will have to explain to this cow why her children are dead." White Ghost.

"Master Ra's has given me leave to dispose of her, should she become an issue. You people are making her an issue. Drop your weapons or she dies!" White Ghost orders.

	The remaining ninja form a human shield in front of White Ghost and Lian, making it difficult to get a clear shot at them. "Do not trifle with me! Throw down your weapons or I will spill her entrails all over the floor." he yells, pressing the tip of the knife against Lian's stomach enough that she can feel it bite into her skin. Merlyn can see his teammates all weigh and decide the consequences of complying with a madman. He watches Rose drop her swords, and Slade put down his gun. He hears Vertigo let his knives fall to the ground and he understands /why/ they do it.

Deep down, despite being able to kill, they will not do so when innocent lives might be at stake. They are still good people.

Robert, however, was not raised to be good. Only just.

White Ghost is only half-a-head taller than the tallest ninja in the room, which isn't very tall to begin with. He also wasn't much taller than Lian, and her head obscured most of his face. Half of a millimeter wrong on this shot, and he would kill Lian, her kids and /maybe/ the White Ghost as well.

"Put down the guns and bow!" White Ghost yells, his head rising a fraction of an inch above Lian's for a microsecond as he takes in the breath to speak, and yell in their direction.

That is the moment that Merlyn releases his arrow.

The shot sails over the heads of the ninja and lands right between the eyes of White Ghost, the arrow-head punching through his mask and slamming him backward into the wall. The knife clatters from his grasp and his fingers twitch as he stands dying, then slowly, but surely dies.

Merlyn smirks.

"That's how you make an arrow disappear." he says.

He reminds himself to thank Keith for teaching him that shot later.

Slade's one eye raises slightly as he watches Robert take the shot and strike successfully.

Aloud, he says: "Good shot, kid. Let's get the girl back to Damien."

In his head, thinks: Like father, like son.

Slade just wasn't sure /which/ father Robert was taking after anymore.

However, he pulls his gun and aims at Vertigo.

"Call my daughter a harlot one more time, and I'll send you back to Bratwurst in pieces, Vertigo."
