A little while later....
Damien is annoyed. The plane trip was fine, but everything after that was a comedy of annoyances.
James wasn't there to meet them at the airport, nor was Lady Vic, Bane or the Kumbata Twins. None of the five were on assignments, so /someone/ should have been there to greet them.
Secondly, his third rotation driver picked them up, which meant the first and second were unable to arrive. Unless they were sick or dead, they should have been here.
That feeling of unease Damien had previously was creeping to the fore again and it followed them all the way to the compound.
"There had best be a damned good explanation for this." Damien says.
