"You've been in your room since we got home," Iris said, knocking on her brother's door.

"I know you're upset...but that wasn't you, Jai. Please, let me. I just want to talk. We don't even have to stay here. We could go to China. For real Chinese food."

Another pause.

"Jai, please. Talk to me."

	Jai had forgotten how good real Chinese food was. It was one of the reasons that he couldn't eat stuff like Panda Express; the real stuff was so much better. Once they had their food, sat and waited for Iris to start talking, because she always did. Iris loved talking, especially at high speed. "So, how do you like being Kid Flash?" he asks. There was a silence, as Iris just nibbled on her food.

"I like it," she said. "It's got it's responsibilities...but I like it."

A pause.

"I hope you don't think that I was trying to steal anything from you," she said, looking down at her dumplings. "I did it because...well you were dead, and I wanted to honor your memory. I'll understand if you want it back. I don't think I can go back to being Impulse, but I'll find something else."

Jai hasn't thought that far ahead. He /used/ to know what he wanted out of life. He used to know where his life was headed.

And then he died. Then he came back and he died again.

Now he was alive again.

"I'm sure I'll think of something." he grins, taking a sip of his drink.

"I applied for this youth journalism conference this summer, in London. I hear Jon's mom is going to be one of the guest speakers. I hope I get accepted.

I'll just have to fit that hoping in with catching up on school and getting back into the swing of stuff." he says, shrugging.

"I know you would have been the first person there if you could have. You're not the person responsible." he says.

If he'd been smarter, he wouldn't have been caught in the first place. What happened to him was as much his fault as his captor's.

"No, it's not okay, Irey. I said and did some pretty crappy things and I wouldn't blame you if you stopped talking to me." Jai says.

"I'm glad you didn't, though." he says.

"But I don't think I'm going back to the Justice League. Not full time, anyway." he says.
