Bed Rest
Kyle woke up with a massive headache and found when he opened his eyes that he couldn’t see. Feeling with his hands toward his eyes he could tell that they were covered with bandages. It took a little bit for him to put together that he was in a hospital bed at his hospital.
He blindly fumbled around for the button to call a nurse to him. Last thing he remembered was those things attacking him and that explosion of white light. He wanted to know what was going on and what had happened.
Nurse that he was familiar with quickly answered the call when he pressed the button.
“Dr. McNider it’s good to see you’re awake,” she says, “You’ve been out for days.”
“Do you have any idea what happened to me,” He asked a little apprehensively.
“We’re not entirely certain,” She told him, “We found you in surgery after the attack like this out cold. We were so glad to find you alive after all that had happened.” She wasn’t telling everything though she didn’t have to heart to do it.
Kyle could tell that she was holding something and he was smart enough to put two and two together. “Jenny why are my eye’s bandaged up,” He asked he already thought he knew the answer to that but wanted to be told he was wrong.
She was quiet for a moment she really didn’t want to be the one to do this. “When we found you it quickly became apparent that you had suffered from serious optical damage. We don’t know how bad it is but your mentor is here looking into it.”
Kyle laid back in his bed. It was as he thought even though he didn’t want it to be true.
