Picking up the pieces
Lian had been given the okay by Tim to return to Star City. Rather than going to the remains of Outsiders Headquarters, Lian went back to her apartment building, surprised to find the damage done to it repaired.

"I guess I really am getting my money's worth on this lease," she said to herself as she entered the building. She threw down her phone and keys, making her way straight to her bedroom, collapsing on her bed. She shut her eyes, trying to get some sleep.

She maybe only started to drift off when she heard a knock on the door. Grumbling a little, Lian rose from the bed, making her way to the door.

She opened the peephole, checking to see who was on the other side.

She couldn't believe her eyes.

Lian threw open the door, throwing her arms around the person on the other side.

"Daddy!"

	"Okay, first...Damien was spotted leaving the scene of things with his mother. They vanished. Don't know where they are. But Jai West is alive." "I don't know where Damien could have gone to," she said. "My thought is back to one of the League's bases, but I don't know which one. Though my guess is the one in the Middle East."

She was glad to hear that Jai was alive...but her heart skipped a couple of beats when he mentioned who else had come back from the dead.

"Cerdian...Cerdian's alive? Did you get to talk to him or Aunt Dolphin at all?"

She had That Look on her face. The one that said she'd made up her mind and wasn't going to be swayed, no matter what.

Roy realized in that moment just how much she reminded him of Jade.

"Okay, I'll make you a deal. If you agree to take it easy and walk down to the harbor and camp out until you see him...I'll get in touch with Garth and tell him that you're asking after Cerdian.

How does that sound?" Roy asks.

	Talk about spitting it out. The piece of orange chicken Roy just ate ended up on the table, as he looked at his daughter in shock. "Lian, no! You are not a whore or anything like it. 	"I didn't think you meant it, but you said I was...just like mom." Lian stared at her food. She knew they couldn't have meant it, but Cerdian and her father's words bothered her. Cue the fatherly guilt. Even if he wasn't the one that said it, the fact that it came from his mouth made it hurt Lian, and Roy will never forgive himself for that.

"Lian, you are just like your mother in every good way that attracted me to her. You're fearless, you're smart and you're absolutely beautiful, Lian.

We had an honest discussion about sex and love when you were younger and you've held to that, mostly. But I don't blame you at all for following your heart." he says.

I blame your mother, and myself.

"Your mother came to visit me after I woke up in the hospital. You'd gone off to your appointment. She left right after, but she wanted me to tell that she loves you." Roy says.

"Okay, honey. Thank you." Roy says.

"Now let's eat."

Just then, Roy's cellphone rings. He nods at Lian, telling her he'll be back in a moment.

"Mr. Harper, we have a location on the target. Gotham City. Orders?" the agent on the other end asks.

Roy pauses, looking over to Lian. He doesn't want to leave her alone, but he also needs to find Shado. She's the only one who might know where he psycho son is.

"Give me a few. I'll be there as soon as I can." Roy says, hanging up the phone and going back to Lian.

"I want you to eat and /relax/, okay? Uncle Dick needs some help out in Gotham and he can't get in touch with Aunt Donna. I'll be back as soon as I can. Okay?"

	"I will. I promise." Roy says. He speaks the passcode he has for the JLA teleporter and vanishes from sight, all the while hating himself for lying to his daughter. He simply trusts that this will all work out someday, when his plan comes to fruition. Maybe she, Ollie and the rest of the family will learn to forgive him by then. (Reply to this)(Parent)
