Doctor's Orders
With the whole world going to Hell Kyle hadn't really had time to react to or deal with it. He was to busy working to save lives working in the emergency room. He hadn't given himself a break since he started his shift and he was now in overtime.

In a couple hours he probably would have to let himself crash. He wouldn't be of any help to anyone if he didn't and likely to make stupid mistakes that could have otherwise been avoided.

He was going around making his rounds and checking up on old patients before he started up on new ones again.

	Hospitals were easy marks. The walking dead knew this and had entered any hospital they could find. Floor by floor, room by room, they went and ripped the hearts out of anyone they could find. The slain patients rose and join the ranks of the Black Lanterns. (Reply to this)(Thread)

“Mrs. Gantz you know you’re not supposed to be walking around,” Kyle says noticing the elderly woman he had been treating earlier at the end of a dark hall.

(COMPASSION)

He made his way toward the elderly woman not noticing anything out of the usual yet. “Why don’t I walk you back to your room and as soon as I have some free time I’ll come by and visit for a bit to help you recover you just need to promise me you’ll stay there.” She was a sweet old lady and he really hoped not to see her here so often.

	The old lady turned around and snarled at him. She was one of the first victims, having been out in the hall when the initial attack came. She lunged for Kyle and reached for his heart. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kyle was in a little bit of shock at the snarl and attack at him

Kyle had taken some self defense classes as was pretty darn good at it mainly for dealing with unruly patients. Not wanting to hurt her he redirected her attack.

He called over to where he knew one of the orderly should be. “Derrick I need a sedative right now,” He says before listing off the amount.

(COMPASSION)

“Mrs. Gantz you’re in a hospital I’m here to help you,” He says before he has time for a closer look.

What he saw he didn’t like something was definitely wrong here and he didn’t really know what.

	The orderly came over to where the old woman and Kyle were. He, like the old lady, had been a victim of the black lanterns and was now one himself. He attacked while the old lady pressed her attack. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	What the hell was going on, he thought to himself as he struggled to free himself from the attacking orderly and his former patient while still trying not to hurt them. Right now he wasn’t so much concerned with his own safety but more for the rest of his patients and how they would be dealing with this. (FEAR) (COMPASSION) (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The two black lanterns continued to attack. Trying to rip the beating heart from his chest. The commotion was drawing the attention of the other people on the floor. Unfortunately they were no longer living and like the orderly and the old lady they were black lanterns. They started toward Kyle. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

“I’m really sorry about this,” Kyle says, “I promise I’ll give it top treatment later.” A quick flick of his wrists quickly breaks both of theirs.

Much to his surprise there is no reaction to it at all and soon it was like he hadn’t broken their wrists at all it was at that point he noticed the others coming towards him.

Seeing that he couldn’t afford to hold back against them Kyle does a judo move throwing the orderly into the elderly woman. He could have run and saved himself but there was still the possibility that some people might still be unaffected and if he could drawn those people away from them then whatever happened to him would be worth it.

(HOPE)

“Hey,” He yells, “Come and get me.” He then starts running down the hall to lead them away shouting back at them to keep them following him.

	The old lady went flying, but started to get up as soon as she landed. The others didn't need any encouragement to follow Kyle. They chased after him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kyle wasn’t exactly looking where he was going he was just trying to lead them away from people.

He eventually found himself in surgery when he realized he needed a better plan than this. Hiding might be able to buy him some time so he tried the doors finding them locked till he got one that he could use his keep card to open.

Fumbling with he moved to open the door only to drop the card.

	Not Good, he thought to himself as he quickly picked up the key and used it to open the door and slam it shut behind him waiting to hear the lock click before he moved away from the door at the same time looking around the room he found himself if for something to defend himself with. 	Kyle wasn't particularly sure how long the door would last under that pounding and he couldn't really see another was out of the room. But he did notice an experimental laser they were using for treatment that he might be able to use especially if he up the power of the beam. Which he was fairly confident he could do. 	Kyle fired the laser at the black lanterns coming through the door. Kyle had somehow managed to get just the right frequency so that it would scare the black rings even if it wouldn't destroy them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	No good, Kyle thought to himself but there wasn't much of a back up plan. So he tried aiming the white laser beam at different parts of the Black Lanterns eventually accidentally hitting one of the rings. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Kyle kept at it with the laser there really wasn't much more he could do but pray for a miracle. With everything going on he didn't notice the laser machine starting to seriously heat up. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	This was not going good but at least hopeful he gave people sometime to escape with his little distraction. It was around this time the heat build up had reached critical level and the laser exploded in a brilliant explosion of white light. Kyle eyes felt like they were burning as he was knocked flying backwards into a wall hard and then everything faded to black. (Reply to this)(Parent)
