And the questions fluttering about her head are replaced with -- that, and there's a brief keening sound of grieving horror for a moment, before she breathes. And starts humming a hymn, like she often does. It's not the usual hymn for keeping her temper, because this certainly isn't about that. A nice, simple, soothe-the-soul song that doesn't take a lot of thinking.
Which is good, because there isn't much good to think right now. Her religion is one of love and dignity and respect for the rhythms of nature. It's one of the things that keeps her going. There are Walking Corpses, and they've taken the boy she loves, and they're not going to stop. It's hard to synchronize those things, so thinking too hard is not good right now. So she holds Ty, and she hums, and breathes, and tries to find her peace again.
If she could let her mind wander to the others, she could hope that Iris and Dinah can direct the others into coming up with a plan. But she can't even spare that right now. Just hold Ty so they can try to bear up together under their collective pain.
