The internal screaming doesn't matter. Its his father. He has to help them - he will help them. Its everything he's always hoped for - the void filled, that presence that's always hovered over his home, but never became quite real there in the flesh.
The chaos melts away entirely, Jayhawk abandoning Jay as he stands tall, tears streaming from his eyes as he does the only thing he can.
He salutes.
