Settling In
The displaced Avengers had been taken back to the JLA headquarters and had been shown to quarters. Svalin may have stared at Jon a bit on the way back, but she looked away every time he looked at her or Vernique looked at both of them. There may have been some red on her cheeks when someone caught her looking at Jon.

Jon was familiar in a way, but Svalin couldn't place from where. It tickled at the back of her mind and would drive her crazy until she figured it out. For now she focused on what needed to be done.

Svalin dropped her belongings on the bed and pulled out her whet stone. She sat on the bed and started sharpening the edge of her sword. There was some time before they were to meet and discuss what was going to come next.

Vernique reached as best she could to put her hand on Svalin's shoulder. "Don't jump to conclusions. What you see is never supposed to be identical to what you get, but... I find myself suspecting I know where I've seen eyes like that before, yeah. But just because it resulted in pregnancy for Solver's mom doesn't mean anything inevitable for you. You be live a choreographed life, but it doesn't have to work the same between timelines."
