Settling In
The displaced Avengers had been taken back to the JLA headquarters and had been shown to quarters. Svalin may have stared at Jon a bit on the way back, but she looked away every time he looked at her or Vernique looked at both of them. There may have been some red on her cheeks when someone caught her looking at Jon.

Jon was familiar in a way, but Svalin couldn't place from where. It tickled at the back of her mind and would drive her crazy until she figured it out. For now she focused on what needed to be done.

Svalin dropped her belongings on the bed and pulled out her whet stone. She sat on the bed and started sharpening the edge of her sword. There was some time before they were to meet and discuss what was going to come next.

	This is about the time he notices he hasn't touched his hot chocolate in a while, and he's still holding her hand. There's a bit of a pauuse while he turns red again and tries to find words. 	Svalin didn't forget her hot chocolate and finished off the last of it. It was very good and she would have to try to find a place in her world where they made it the same way or very close. 	He gets up as well, giving her hand a light squeeze, then heads for the gourmet burger place - one of his favorites in Metropolis. "You guy are getting quite a bit of attention. A lot of folks are wondering if this Kang has something to do with some of the current situation. If so, you'll have plenty of backup." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Kang hath been giving technology to those who shouldst not have it, but the weapon that hit you didst wast more magical in nature than tech. I doth not believe this wast Kang's work. Kang ist not one to deal in magic or magical weapons."

She fell into step beside him and found it quite surprising that she wasn't that much taller than he. She was used to mortals being a good deal shorter than she.

"Yeah, I'm not as resistant to magic as I am to most other things. I didn't recognize a lot of our attackers, but some of their weapons and methods were familiar. Someone had been planning that for a while. And it sounds like Kang is perfectly willing to work with others. And even if he had nothing to do with that, doesn't mean he isn't here or up to something on his own."

"Aye," she said. "In the past his interference hath been most obvious. It ist hard to tell here, but I doth know that Kang doth not deal with magic and those weapons wert magical in nature."

"It doth not make much sense if we wert sent here and there wast no interference from Kang," she said as they walked. "In the past eras he hath given weapons to various groups to easily conqueror the world and in the future we helped our children battle him. This ist most vexing."
