Visitors From Another Dimension
It had been simple, very simple, and he couldn't be happier. Lex Luthor was dead. Superman was dead. Now the Justice League would be destroyed. It was the ultimate victory and it was his. He had succeeded where all others had failed. They lured them out with some random violence on ground of their choosing and then attacked.

“Now. Destroy them,” he said to his “team”.

He was invisible as he wore a helm similar to Hades'. The shadowy figure raised the trident in his hand and struck it on the ground. The ground began to rumble and shake as an earthquake shook Metropolis. He smiled and hurled the lightning bolt in his hand at the son of Superman. It was time to kill the son like he had killed the father. The Kryptonian couldn't fight what he couldn't see.

Lyta was busy controlling the demon like beings she had summoned using the Pandoran Box. The demons were currently attacking Corinna, the Amazon. In addition to her minions she wielded the Chronian Sickle which boosted her magical abilities. She was driving the Amazon back it was just a matter of moments until the Amazon fell.

Kandra had taken on the male Green Lantern and had used her yellow and violet rings against him. The man had held his own for quite awhile, but eventually Kandra had overpowered him. She was using the yellow ring to beat him into the ground.

Serendipity shouted “SIVANA!” and the proceeded to take on the new Firestorm. She called down the thunderbolt and hit Firestorm with it. Then proceeded to use her strength and speed against him.

Devil Ray was holding his own against the Atlantean, but neither one seemed to have the advantage. Though Devil Ray did wear the Cape of Leviathan hide and would not be hurt by the Atlantean's blows.

Ocelot was running circles, literally, around the Gardner girl while M'stee M'ai used her Kyptonian like powers to shoot heat beams from her eyes at Petra.

Fury attacked Alina and blinded the magic user with a burst of light brighter than the sun. As soon as Alina was temporarily blinded, she attacked with fists while as dense as she could be.

The Young Justice League was against the ropes and it would only be a matter of moments before they would be defeated at the hands of a shadowy figure and his team.

	Oops - the only shrinker he knows is Din, and Din doesn't fly. Briefly taking his eye off the fight for the good of an ally - as he's prone to do, Jon reaches out a hand to steady Vernique to make sure she's alright first. "Dare I ask who we owe the save?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Not to worry. Saving falling maidens, of the warrior variety or otherwise, is practically a Kent-family reflex by now. Jon transfers Vernique to his shoulder, elevates a couple feet off the ground and turns, neatly catching Svalin mid-flight. "Are you alright?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin didn't expect to be caught, as she had never been in the past, but it was much nicer than colliding with a building or the ground. "Aye, I art fine," she said and looked up to see who had caught her. Her breath caught in her chest and she forgot to breathe for a moment. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

There's a brief 'Luthor moment' where Damien's brain insists he rant about 'how dare these unknown interlopers interfere with his brilliant scheme!?' - to which he reacts as he usually does.

He calmly notes to his brain that such rants belong in a time when they can be followed with "And I would have succeeded, were it not for you lousy kids and your little dog too!" - and his plan wasn't that brilliant. Simple, straightforward ambush with unknown forces. The simplicity gave it some charm and fewer weak links than his father's often complicated schemes, but he's capable of better work than this.

Still, it'd be something of a shame if this was a total loss. Seeing the Kryptonian is distracted, he takes aim with the Thunderbolt - at the most vulnerable looking target. After all, the Atom and his associates are far more dangerous, long term, than anything to do with the Alien other than the 'Super' legacy - the little ones always get overlooked, and can be anywhere. Plus they're hard to hit - best to remove that X-Factor right now.

He takes careful aim at Vernique and throws the lightning bolt.

'This is Svalin' and the look in the Valkyrie's eyes gets Jon's attention. There's just something about the woman - she reminds him a little of all the best traits about Corrinna and the Amazons - and yet different too. He's usually not /that/ distractable in a fight. But then he also honestly usually doesn't think about girls that much. Until recently, he's been too pre-occupied with other big thoughts.

There's a flash of light then, and it draws his attention back to the fight.

The bolt of Zeus travels at the literal speed of lightning. There's only the barest of instants to react - and that's all he needs. Vernique is pushed aside, Svalin held away, shielding her with his body as Jon takes the lightning bolt square in the chest - and is once again sent flying, not getting up this time, aside from struggles to rise. At least he's obviously still alive.

Svalin went flying with Jon and landed next to him. She shook her head. By Odin's beard she never let herself get that distracted in a fight before.

Svalin climbed to her feet and did a quick check on Vernique. Her friend was fine, which was a relief. She turned toward /him/.

Seeing that he was hurt, she knelt down next to him and carefully helped him sit up. "Art thou okay?" she asked.

	Jon blinks a couple times, still smoking from the hit with the magical bolt. He can't remember ever being hit quite that hard, and for a second, he's wondering if he's seeing an angel. His senses start to return a moment later. "Yeah... I will be." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Still disoriented, Vernique manages to see the Shadowy Figure vanish. "Okay, we're new in town," she manages to withhold the 'handsome' this time. Vernique Denning Does Not Poach, and Svalin'll need all the encouragement she can get. "What's the trouble?" (Reply to this)(Parent)
