Maria paced the living room. It was what she did when she was upset and the death of Bruce Wayne, any Bruce Wayne, was upsetting. This wasn't the Bruce Wayne that had raised Maria, but since Maria had arrived here she had bonded with Bruce.
They talked in the morning over coffee and breakfast and in the evenings in the library before bed. Maria enjoyed those talks and had looked forward to them. Now there would be no more.
She wanted to cry and hit someone at the same time, but she paced instead.
