"That's good to hear." Hal says, smiling at his friend.
"Things change in ways you never expect, Diana, when you least expect it. I asked Carol to marry me. She basically said yes, but she wants a long engagement. It'll give me time to settle back into my life and get things in place.
I hope you'll come and share the day with us next year." he says.
