Superboy isn't in great shape from the Kryptonite, but he's got enough presence of mind to reach out and grab Metallo's foot to slow him down from attacking Mia.
"Don't...touch her!" he growls, using both hands to hold him, before Metallo turns and kicks him in the face, sending him flying across the room.
Superboy sails through a wall and is slow to rise again.
