Summary: It's the Snowflake Ball!

The main hall of the Crescent City Institute had been completely transformed for the school's annual Snowflake Ball. Instead of a grand, but rather bland, hall, there was now an utterly festive atmosphere. A giant tree was the focal point now, decorated with real icicles and pine needles, and tiny fairies sitting politely on the ends of branches to provide a twinkling effect. Pillars were festooned with garlands and ribbon, tables set up with snowy white tablecloths, and the floor had been charmed to give off a low, misty effect. It was an effect that went well with the effect placed on the ceiling.

This was Louisiana, after all, and it wasn't often that they got heavy snow. But for tonight at least, there was snow at CCI. Or rather, in CCI. Snow fell prettily from the enchanted ceiling, warm and not wet at all. It evaporated before it hit the floor, but there was a charming quality to it as it fell among the Ball's attendees. In some spots, little floating lights, much like will-o-wisps floated amid the falling snow. Here and there, professors walked among the students giving greetings and compliments, and sometimes rebukes, all garbed in their holiday best. Some wore dress robes, others donned more Muggle attire. All in all, it was a beautiful occasion.

Summary: It's the Homecoming Dance!

It was finally the night of of the Homecoming Dance; the second big night of the week that the students of Crescent City had been waiting for. The big game against the Badlands school had been a great success for House Beauregard, and the banner strung over the stage of the hall congratulated the team on their victory. It was the same stage that held a small band providing the music for the evening entertainment, and would be the site of the court results later on.

The hall itself was decorated in the masquerade theme of the evening, accented with hints of gold and green in honor of Beauregard. There was plenty of seating available around the dance floor for students to relax and mingle, as well as plenty of food and refreshment. All in all it was to be a rather splendid evening at the Homecoming Midnight Masquerade.

Michiko was incredibly nervous. It was the first time she would be introducing Isamu to her friends. She had seen them all only a few weeks ago, but then again... a few weeks ago she didn’t have a baby to hold in her arms. Eli had been wonderful and supportive the whole time (that was a whole different can of worms to worry about though). Now was the time for her friends. So after Eli left the apartment she changed out of her sweats and into something nicer for her friends. Anna had been making cookies and Isamu was just waking up from his nap.

She picked up her son and brought him to the rocking chair. Michi seated herself and rocked, gently cooing to Isamu as she waited for her friends to arrive.
