Characters Charlie and Bekka Setting Outside, Tuesday evening Content Swearing, smoking, drug use Summary Charlie bumps into Bekka whilst out for a smoke.
It had been a particularly stressful weekend, what with his parents coming to stay. Possibly the second worst thing his mother could find in his room (the porn stash) was found and everyone went home not speaking to each other. Charlie was pretty glad the normalicy of classes was back, and even more thankful to have a nice joint to smoke in the sweet evening air.
Just as he was lighting up he heard a noise behind him and inspected, finding Bekka. Blowing smoke out of her direction he tipped his chin at her and meandered over.
"A little bit to the left, but the doctors are working on correcting that." Bekka replied without a trace of a smirk and a wave against the smoke. She had removed the standard sweater of her day-to-day uniform, and the edges of her shirt were un-tucked around the skirt. On the hem looked to be the remains of a bit of lace, the remains of an idea of her mother from school years gone by.
She had her own cigarettes, a half-dead cell phone and two buts already at her feet. Taking a drag, Bekka finished off her third and tossed it down, crushing the embers with her heel.
"Survive the Spanish Inquisition?" She asked, adding quickly, "Or Jewish, in my case."
"Blissfully short." Bekka replied, digging out another cigarette to light. She tended to chain smoke when deep in thought, or nervous. Which she was not. Even if the rumors of other kid's parents were starting to finally reach her ears. She was just... thinking.
"They were here for two hours, went out to lunch with some of their old classmates and that was it."
"I don't know if I should be sad or jealous, man. My mom was in my business the whole weekend. I don't even wanna think how much goddamn money I lost whilst trying to stop her finding my stash" he grumbled, kicking the ground sulkily.
"So you didn't get grounded for running your little betting ring, then?" He smirked at her and raised his eyebrows.
"How do those two even correlate?" Bekka's eyebrow went up, "Did you try to give it all away or something?"
She returned his smirk with one of her own, glancing side-long over to him. "You think they know about that? My father would kill me if he found out. They think I'm the accountant for CCI's branch of Young Republicans."
Charlie shrugged and grinned goofily. "Most of it. I forgot they were even coming up until they were practically at the door" he admitted, staring down at his joint accusingly. "If my buds haven't smoked it, I might be able to get most of it back" he joked. "She still found my porn though" he added with a sigh.
What Bekka said next amused Charlie greatly. "Now that is funny" he said through a puff of smoke.
"I'm sure you can always grow more" Bekka replied with a roll of her eyes. She tapped the ash off her cigarette against the side of the wall, letting the small pile below build up some more. "Though if you're growing porn..."
At the Republican comment, Bekka even offered him a smile in return. "Well how else would you explain my book?"
